Rear decklid has been repaired from damage at Texas event. Just needs flames painted when I return home. Here are pics of NEW BRIGHTER tail lights. You can even see them in the daylight. Also, Mr Real Rod installed 39 Ford lights on the trailer and we blacked out the original lights. The new Torque Thrust wheels go on when I get home also. ------------------ |

Marty- did you ever figure out what it was that caused the paint damage on your Decklid? Buddy ------------------ |

I think Marty's damage was caused by moisture dripping off the roof of the parking garage at the hotel. This is a typical problem I have seen before from concrete structures. |

Didn't they say it was the lime in the concrete...or something like that. At least the hotel took repsonsibility for the damage. I saw it at Chelsea and it was pretty bad. I'm sure you'll be happy when it's all put back together Marty! |

I know the question of mileage was posed to Marty, but here is my opinion. Some Prowlers are daily drivers and many are show cars. I think most Prowlers are 2nd (or in Mike K's case 18th) cars and are driven on weekends and some week days, thus lower miles. IMO.

Thanks Randy, That does make sense if the cars just don't accrue many miles cuz they're weekend OR showcars--still wanna know what a new engine is gonna cost me should I need one in a year or seven, eh! Ty-K |

Ty-K, you can get a new Stroker motor for $ 10,000. The price of Marty's used motors vary. The price of scrap iron fluctuates severely. lol. |

quote: Sorry for the delay in responding. I have been traveling and not checking all the sections of the board regularly. My ongoing engine replacement adventure is essentiually part of Westech's R&D in developing a stroker motor packeage including upgraded heads, cams, headers, etc. You can contact Norm Brabdes at Westech for direct pricing info but I would think the total package price point would be in the $10K range Ed mentioned inclding installation/tuning. That is about what the Twin Turbo package costa at IDA automotive. At RSI I believe they charge arouynd $18K for a Supercharger/nitrous package. You can buy a short block form Chrysler for sefveral thousand and a complete engine for a couple thousand more. Used engines are showing up on ebay for less than $2000 also. Marty |

Thanks Ed...thanks Marty...always GOOD to know what one MAY be looking at on down the road--hey--maybe just buy two (like everyone else on the board) so neither gets too many miles--ahhhh--now I see WHY [2] in the same stable! S-m-a-r-t...OK, it takes me awhile, but I'm there now! Ty-K |

Tami - my car looks weird (stock) without the flames on the rear deck lid! Having new, bright, shiny, swirl free black paint on the deck, both rear fenders and roll pan is a good thing! |

quote: Only driving it weekends or "showcars" is not the only reason for low mileage. I live in Michigan, so we have a shorter driving season (if you aren't into driving your cat in the snow) than others who have a whole year driving season. I'm usually able to get my cats out of the bags around late March and I drive them until the end of November (barring weather complications). When they are out, I drive them EVERY chance I get.....every day if I can. I'm a very lucky girl to have two cats, so I also divide the driving time between the two...so the mileage isn't being put on just one cat, either (okay, so it isn't equal time! lol!) |

That's definitely how to keep mileage low--live in Siberia (or Michigan--same same) and own 7 Prowlers...one fo' each day o' the week! Let's see now, driving each 1 day a week for 50 miles each drive times 7 or 8 months = not very many miles on any of them--kewl. Alas, I live where it can be driven everyday of the year and DON'T own but the one, so, well...you do the math! Who cares? It'll be fun anyway! Ty |

I hear ya' CJ, I don't REALLY have a choice whar I'm livin' right now, but, after I retire we hope to move to the Great Nor'West, perhaps Montana--beautiful scenery there! Ahhhh! The more I look at your Candy Red, the more I like it! She's a real 'beaut' CJ! Congrats again! This message has been edited by Tytanium-K on 07-21-2004 at 10:15 AM |
