Is it my imagination or are there two versions of the color orange for the cat ? When I was shopping for one I looked at one that was a burnt / copper metallic color, and recently I saw one on the road that was more of a true color of an orange ?

Yes, it's your imagination.

When I heard the orange came out, I couldn't wait to see it at my dealer. YUCHHH! On the showroom floor, it looked burnt orange, worst color I've seen.

THEN I SAW ONE AT A CAR SHOW - IN SUNLIGHT. It's now my second-favorite color - bright, shiny, sparkly.

It's still not for me - as a daily driver, I don't think it looks that great on overcast or winter days. As a Sunday Sunny Driver, it's GRReat(tm).

Then again, you can look at it as getting 2 cars in one.

Ken, we went to an auction and they had a red one and it did look orange. We have an orange and the light can make it look different at times. Only one version of the orange."Orange Pearl"

Well, all of the above is correct EXCEPT that Mike K. has a beautiful Orange cat that is about the color of a creamcycle. I mean that as the highest compliment, not a put down. It is beautiful. Don Ward painted it and it looks sharp. I think it is probably one of a kind.
Nyle Wing painted his car orange about 3 or 4 years ago and it is an orange that looks like the fruit. A true orange, in other words. Who knows how many other repainted cats are floating around.
Sandy and I went to CAAP while they were manufacturing the first Orange Cats, before they had even released the next color to the public. We were the only people there who did not work for D-C. The shipping room was full of them. Under those lights it was "blaaaaaah". It did nothing for me. Then I saw it in the sunlight and it is more like "Shazam". The Deep Candy is a similar color. Under certain lights it is pretty blah. In the sunshine it is killer.
The original RED cats, under mercury vapor lights looks totally orange. Andy R is still telling people I have an orange cat. He is such a trouble maker. I wish he could be more like me. lol
I hope that clears up any confusion I might have caused. lol.

The Chrysler Prowler orange is called Prowler Orange Pearl Coat. Several people have painted oranges like the old Cuda orange. Nyle's orange cat had ghost flames, also.

I think Orange Pearl is one of the best colors. The pearl does change colors depending on the light. I really notice it when comparing photos of the car shot in different lighting conditions. I never really cared for the color orange until I saw this color. Actually my favorite color is purple. I should have a purple Prowler. Go figure?

CJ, was Nyle's car the same color as Mike's car? If so, did Mike's car look diff. due to lighting? or don't I recall Nyle's car correctly. I may have never seen his car in person after he painted it.

Ed, I don't know if Nyle or Mike painted their orange car first....not that it matters. I think that Mike's is closer to the Cuda orange only because Nyle put ground gold glass in the paint and the ghost flames, which obviously gave the Cuda orange a different look. It was an awesome paint job.
