We were in Bastrop having lunch at the Texas Grill on Tuesday. I walked over to two Sheriff dept officers and asked if they could help me out with getting all the cars out from the parking onto the highway by holding up the traffic at the light. One officer said he would have to ask the Sargent about that. The Sargent came over and informed me that they would help but not until they finished their lunch and Ice Tea.. hehe Not only did he do the light thing at the Texas Grill but he asked if I'd hang on while he got two more units here. You see he wanted to not only assist with that traffic light but as he said, "we have four light in town and we're gonna help you get out town with no lights".. When the other two units showed they had the Sargents Police truck lead us out and a nice slow drive down about 1-1/2 to 2 miles of highway. Picture the truck in the middle of the highway with lights flashing and two lanes of Prowlers behind him all the way out of town! People in the shopping centers on both sides were all looking at this Parade through their town. It was awesome, I sure hope someone was able to get some pictures! At the last light he blasted the siren and pulled off.. I never did get that Sargent's name but I think all our Thanks goes out to him and the Bastrop County Sheriff's Dept. for their great assistance on that rainy day.. Prowler's bring out the best in people! ------------------ |

Fred - the story continues,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, It seems my cousin Tami asked the officers to harass the Alley Cat Prowler after they got us through the lights I was driving down the road about one mile after the last blocked traffic signal, and all of a sudden I have one sheriff's car close on my rear end and one sheriff's car right next to me driving close It was raining at the time and here I am with NO wipers on the cat with two cop cars surrounding me,,,,,,I'm thinking this is going to be a long explanation to them. It was a endless minute of time before they released from me and took off. I later found out that Tami had asked them to intimidate me for awhile. OK,,, I, who never pulls off joking matters on anyone,,,,,did find the humor in that one, lol. Tami - Remember,,,,the beat goes on! |

AC was following me. He kept dropping further and further back. I got on the radio and asked him why. Said he had no wipers and the cops were on both sides of him. And they would not pass him. Too Funny. |

quote: Too Funny? Rich, my heart was pumping fast!!! I remember just slowing down 3 to 4 mph at a time when you called me on the two-way. I figured you thought I had car problems,,,,,I did, two cop cars wedging me in BUCKETS Randall - money back for NOT arresting me??? Tami and you will get a serious payback someday! Hide and watch! It became funny when I later got the scoop on what happened. I was thinking maybe in Texas you need wipers, bumpers, and your state plate name showing, lol. |

That was great of the local gendarmes to assist us. I was worried, though, that they wouldn't let me through since I had the Durango instead of the cat. I figured that if they started chasing me for running the lights, at least I had a HEMI!! Men are so gullible, aren't they Tami? Way to go girl!! |

Fred, A letter thanking them would be appreciated, I am sure. They went way beyond the call of duty getting those extra guys for the far lights. |

Ed, thats what I'm doing, I'm trying to get the Sargent's name and will send a letter of Thanks for their "going beyond what I asked for" and extending the courtesy to us.. CJ, I think you were ok all the way, I had told him I knew we had a Black Chrysler, a Black Darango and a Red Dodge pickup with us too. ------------------ |

CJ: Yes they are!! LOL It was great watching them flank him as we left town. The rest of us took the side road and he kept going straight on the highway with both of the squads with him - Jamie and I were laughing our butts off in the Prowler watching him slow his speed to try and get them to leave. I asked him if he was having some sort of engine problem, but got no response. Fred - I screwed up, I told the Sargeant I would give him a ride in the Prowler for helping us out when we were talking to them and didn't do that for him - ooooops!!! T |
