We have been notified that there may be a correction needed in the Modified Stock class at the Drags. Laddie and I are working on verifying the results once more and I'll post the findings as soon as possible. This has nothing to do with the Bracket Racing, only the overall fastest time for the class.

The correction has been validated and it was found that Creed Smith's Silver Prowler ran the fastest time for Modified Stock class. I have corrected it in the post of Winner's.

This mistake was simply an oversite when looking over the 3-1/2 sheets of reports which did not have the cars in number order but simply by when they ran. Creed's time was missed and should have been caught but mistakes happen. At least it has been rectified.

Congrats Smitty.

My apologies to you & Rich for the oversight and confusion... Thanks Rich.

Now, we may need a little rematch down the road sometime between the two of you... Seems both of your Kats ran .3 faster than similiar modified Kats...

Laddie Creed's Kat has headers and I believe I heard his Cats are removed. I will never be able to remove my Cats here in GA, but headers someday.

Stock? I am confused on this. If the mod does not come from Mopar how can it be stock expecially with headers and smog stuff removed. Just wondering not trying to start a battle.

Gordon, I appreciate your support my friend but they did spell out Modified Stock to include CAI, Exhausts, Gears and/or Headers. Fred said they did not think to consider most Header Kats also have the Cat Converters removed. Heck its hard to think of everything when you have so many things to plan for an event like this. So under the guidlines set forth, Creed gets to claim the title. Our Kat was faster then all other comparibly equipped Prowlers in attendance. So I am extremely thrilled with it's performance and cannot get too upset about being beat by 1/10 second, by a Prowler with headers and no Cat Converters. I have to feel if I had the same set up I could probably have beat Creed's time as well. It would be interesting for sure. But alas, we will probably never know for sure, because my Cat Converters will likely never be removed so I both stay Street Legal and pass emissions here in GA. At least our Kat showed it's not just all show and no go. I just wish the condition had been a little better so everyone could have got thier best performance that evening.

Gordon. No Problem... We made the rules...

We established three classes to determine Fastest ET times between similiar or comparably equipped Prowlers using street tires. No consideration to "Pure Stock" or Mopar accessories only.

Here's the class groupings:

STOCK = Pure Stock and/or exhaust and/or air intake changes.... (Not sure any of these have a measurable affect of ET times).

MODIDIFIED STOCK = Gears and/or Headers... (Gears should have affect on ET times maybe .3)...

OPEN = NOS, Supercharger, Stroker motor or any combination thereof...

Non Street = anything and running Slicks ...

I think there was a normal distribution within each of these classes and ET times were comparable.

And, we had only ONE class for the Bracket racing... All cars ran against each other based on their Dial-in Time...

Marty - plus the fact that I told Kelly to put 40psi in the rear tires before going to the drag strip, to help Gary out.

Archer - better luck next time,,,,you can do it!

Larry - that would be my car she put the air in! I had 44 PSI in my tires on the first five runs! You'd think I had never been to the track before.

Rich and Marty - I would think that you two racers would know better, lol. The first thing I did when arriving at the track was to drop the rears from 36 psi down to 22psi. Maybe that is why Lethia turned a quick time? I was thinking 18 psi sounded better, but didn't want to look at the low tire pressure warning light on the way back to the hotel. I did make two screw ups: one, left a tool box with 15 lbs of metal in the trunk, and two, had a full tank of gas when we left San Antonio. We hadn't planned on running down the strip until we arrived at the track, and thought "what the hell, it's just for fun!"

You guys did real well with your respective setups I'm just glad we didn't have to use the Longstreth's open trailer to carry any wounded cats back to Austin!!!

A/C - It was a fun evening. We got there late, with only 15 minutes left before the bracket racing strted so my first three runs were with a hot engine after driving 75 to 80 MPH all the way from Austin. The air pressure did not even cross my mind until a couple of runs after that. My car felt good off the line but seemed to need a little more at the top end. I think once we work through the lean fule condition and get morte gas to the engine in the upper RPM's I'll pick up more speed.

You and Lethia did real well.

AND - as you stated, we did not have to bother Bob Longstreth with towing duties this time!!

Randy - Christy didn't race as far as I know. Chris's new supercharger set up was about a tenth of a second faster tha my stroker motor. We never ran side by side at the track but I believe my car was stronger off the line but his extra HP kicked in down the track. With his side pipeds open you could certainly hear when he was on the track!
