I didn't do an actual count but, my estimate is 45+ Prowlers at the track. We had 36 tech cards (so 36 cars were on the track) and 40 drivers (four cars had multiple drivers). The others were there to support the event and watch the fun. It was a very successful night - no breakdowns and seems everyone enjoyed the drag racing or just running down the track during time trials & test & tune. We had five members of the local San Antonio Mopar club out to join us. We started the time trials at 7:00 and began the 1st round of the Bracket race at 8:30. We continued the Test & Tune runs between the rounds of racing so this gave everyone a chance to get as many runs as they wanted.... We had 26 cars & Drivers participate in the 4th Annual Prowler Drags Bracket Race. The track report doesn't have the correct names so I'm just posting the Car #s... Here's the round by round results:
You can post and list your name & #. ------------------ |

Whoever crosses the finish line first, without going quicker than his dial-in, is the winner. Slower car gets the head start. Someone could have a quicker ET and still lose the race based on a slower reaction time and/or the degree of headstart given the other car. #4, Buddy ------------------ |

Rich. It's a case of the Dialin time. The starting lights are synchronized to whatever dialin you write on your window. Car #9 actually gets a .5 head start based on the difference between the two dialin numbers (15.1 vs 14.6). Bracket racing is a handicap type system. The theory being if they had identical RT (Reaction Times) and ran their ET exactly on their Dialin they would cross the finish line at the same time. Now look at RT #9 had 1.2983 & # 25 had 1.104. When you combine the two based on a MARGIN of Victory approach. # 9 crossed the finish line 1st... Margin of Victory ET vs Dialin -- #9 beat #25 by .4564 (.247 - .7034) So, when you combine the two #9 beat #25 across the finish line by .5949... The time slip would show margin of victory or win somewhere on the bottom. A RED LIGHT occurs when your RT is below .50000. So, there was no red light in this specific race...

I was Car # 17. In round two I raced a NEON SRT4 whom dialed in a 14.3. When He saw my 14.7 dial in he must have got nervous and red lighted, so I backed of at the end of the run and only ran 15.06. |
