Is anyone else having problems with repair parts support from Daimler-Chrysler. My 2000 Prowler has been sitting in my garage for 3 months since January 13th when a repair parts was ordered. I am thankful this in not my main means of transportation, but I would like to be able to use the car I bought in good faith with expectations of being able to buy replacement parts. I know from a recent post about the new Prowleronline Store the Daimler-Chrysler is not supporting T-Shirts, but I assumed they would support parts for their vehicles.

That really sounds weird !! I've ordered hundreds of parts over the past 4 years. My dealership will tell me where the parts are coming from and when they are likely to arrive. They've been almost always right on the money and when there's a problem they call me and leave a message. I've ordered all sorts of parts for the car. Just like the thread above-what have you ordered ? I'm SURE that there are a number of people on this sight that can get you WHAT EVER YOU NEED OR WANT. My dealer even will tell me how many are in the system at other dealers and the parts warehouses. When computers work, they are wonderful !!. Obi-Wan

1MORTOY,If you want to give me part numbers of what they are still waiting for I will check availability for you just like obi-wan mentioned. Maybe they are yanking your chain or the parts are really back-ordered.Bruce

some parts that are on national b/o-because the supplier that makes those parts, not dc,doesnt have any more, and has do to another run.usually the dealer, if the parts man is sharp, can find at another dealer,or another depot.if not you have to wait.this may be the problem w/lt.window regs.on nat.b/o.i do have a left new one if somebody really need one asap.

On another note, I do know from talking to my Mopar contact, that parts and accessories that come from vendors for Mopar have to be put into Mopar's system and sometimes that can take up to a month or so. Also, transferring parts between parts depots can also take time. Unfortunately for the consumer, that can be why parts show on back-order and takes time to get them into the system.

Thank you for your help. One very nice dealer sent me a PM and will pull the part off a totaled Prowler on his lot. I am buying it and will have my dealer do the install. Maybe we all need to find a parts car.

Thank you again for the response

I'll have to go to my storage to know for sure but I'm pretty sure I have one. What's it worth?

Obtaining my Part from wrecked Prowler fell through. The Daimler-Chrysler Customer Service finally called me yesterday and said my part will be available in JUNE. I hope that is June 2004. If it arrives in June, that means 6 months from time the order was placed on January 13th. I own five (5) Daimler-Chrysler cars, but with this poor support, I won't buy anymore. Thank heaven for my two General Motors vehicles.

Johnny, those parts are on backorder at every depot. As of April 15 the packager is getting 6000. However there are many in dealer inventories across the nation. Your dealer could call some of those to get the part sooner --may cost a little more though. Bruce
