After more than a year of working with DaimlerChrysler, the Prowler Owners Association/ ProwlerOnline.com was granted, by DaimlerChrysler, a limited use Licensing Agreement for the purpose of producing and selling Prowler apparel and merchandise. The profits from this merchandise will be used to help pay for the site maintenance and related costs. We hope that in the near future, some of these monies can be used for helping to support events and perhaps even some charity donations on behalf of the POA. A volunteer team has been working diligently for almost a year to develop the ideas and changes to the website that we will need for "opening" our Prowler store. We still have work to do, but hope to have everything up and running sometime very soon. The licensing agreement that has been granted to us by DaimlerChrysler, states very stringent guidelines that we must follow with regard to the use of DaimlerChrysler’s trademarks. These include the wordmark (Prowler), the cat design, the vehicle design, and the vehicle trailer design. Anyone that is using any of the copyrighted trademarks for items that they are advertising and selling on the website MUST have a direct licensing agreement with DaimlerChrysler or under the POA licensing agreement with DaimlerChrysler. The POA licensing agreement with DaimlerChrysler states that "The Prowler trademarks can be used on club apparel or merchandise for members, family and friends, but cannot be used on items for sale to the public at large through person-to-person sales, retail sales or Internet sales (meaning we cannot have a separate website to sell this merchandise). In keeping with their corporate identity and logo presentation guidelines, the trademarks can only be used in their original forms and cannot be modified, altered, or combined with any other third party trademarks or designs." In order for POA to be in accordance with the guidelines of this licensing agreement, DaimlerChrysler has given us the task of monitoring the sales of all products on our website that contain any of DaimlerChrysler’s licensed trademarks. If we do not comply with these guidelines, they can revoke our licensing agreement. After all the time and effort that has been put into obtaining this licensing agreement and the development of the new Prowler Store, we would appreciate everyone’s cooperation to avoid jeopardizing the great opportunity that DaimlerChrysler has afforded us. Anyone whose products are using the licensed trademarks, must provide documentation of their licensing agreement with DaimlerChrysler to the Prowler Store team. For anyone who is not licensed to use DaimlerChrysler’s trademarks, we would like to speak with you about how you can continue to sell your products on our website and to the club members under the POA’s licensing agreement with DaimlerChrysler. Please contact Phil Horvath at phorvath@prodigy.net , or CJ at Only1CJ@comcast.net . The new Prowler Store will provide all club members the opportunity to use their ideas and/or designs for merchandise and apparel, using the resources we have in place and under the POA licensing agreement. We have been busy collecting your ideas and choosing products to offer through the Prowler Store. As soon as we have all the processes in place, we will make the announcement of the Prowler Store Grand Opening and ordering information. Thanks for your patience..........we think this will be a great opportunity for everyone at POA!!" Your Prowler Store Team |

Since it is very apparent that Daimler-Chrysler lost interest in support of the “Prowler”, I am pleased that POA has created a “Prowler Store” to enhance our love and passion for our Cats. I have regrets As many of the current Vendors have supported POA This way, we can reward instead of punish Sincerely, |

I'm reading it that things created by the club and for the club can only be sold within the club. |

I'll try to clarify some of these questions. 1. DaimlerChrysler supports the Prowler community in other ways beside producing merchandise and apparel. Unfortunately, because the vehicle is no longer being produced, it is not economically feasible for them to continue on that path. Hence the reason that the licensing was pursued on behalf of the club. We will pick up where they left off!! 2. This effort will NOT harm ANY of our vendors. The Prowler community more than appreciates the time and efforts that have gone into development of aftermarket parts for the Prowler. This in itself is not an issue at all. The licensing issue is only with using the Trademarked logos that belong to DaimlerChrysler. Unless a person or company who is making and selling products which are using the licensed logos has a licensing agreement with DC, it is illegal and in violation of trademark licensing laws. If any of our vendors are using the trademarks/logos on their products and are not licensed by DC, we can allow them to sell their products here, under the club's licensing agreement, by using a very simple solution. Those vendors only need to contact us (and they have all been sent an email regarding this) to discuss the very simple solution we have worked out for them. Please understand that the last thing we want to do is harm ANY of our vendors. DaimlerChrysler does monitor this site and has for some time. If we do not comply with the terms of our licensing agreement, they will revoke it and we will have NO source of Prowler apparel and merchandise. We are trying to do what will benefit all of us and stay within the guidelines that DaimlerChrysler has given us. Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding of this process. We think that everyone will have fun with the Prowler Store!!! |

I see a lot of "fear" about the licensing and how it will affect all of us, old and new, vendors and members. Nothing much is really going to change except that we can now make the type of items we all want with the official logo's and sell them with complete confidence in using them. The rules are very easy to comply with. Don't be afraid!!!It's cool Life is good Go for a ride!!! |

My only hope is that the POA Prowler Store Team be very selective with the vendors it allows to produce merchandise. Vendors should have to be required to produce quality items and provide outstanding customer service. No 1 person or company should have an exclusive deal to produce any 1 item. License agreements should have to be renewed/reviewed annually. I look forward to doing business with the Prowler Store and it's vendors.~Robert |

Robert, We are talking with many different vendors and most were making the Prowler Merchandise for Chrysler or had in the past. Our Goal is to have the highest quality products at the best affordable prices. We are also looking for any suggestions for items and also welcome any vendor who has a product that our membership will be interested in.
