Was curious, it seems almost every time I take the Kat out,
people pull up at a light or rolling down the road and take a picture. Doesn't matter if its day or night. It took me a
while to get used to the attention the car gets not to mention all the people who stare as you drive down the road.
Its crazy sometimes.

Someone gauking at our Kat caused a wreck. I have had people jump out of thier cars at lights, pull up next to me on the interstate and talk in addition to pictures.

You get the pictures, then you get the questions and then more questions....when you buy the car it should be listed as one of the standard options.
In Meancat's case with the wealth, good looks and all that there is no end to his popularity!

It's amazing to me that after all the time these cars have been out, there are still people who have never seen one or seen one up close. The smiles and waves and hoots and hollers are one of the most pleasurable parts of having these cars.

I always say that you really need to be a people person if you own one of these cars, because everyone wants to talk to you and ask questions, take pictures, etc.

Their smiles put a smile on my face!!

My dealer told me if I didn't like talking to strangers, then the Prowler wasn't for me.

I've had my picture taken driving down the interstate at speed. Had power walkers cross the street just to ask what it was. All manner of thumbs up, and cool car screams.

Watched a kid in a mega-SUV bounding front to back over the seats as they passed me, so he could get to the back window and keep gawking...

There does not seem to be as many pictures taken going down the road as there use to be. When I 1st got the car July `98 just about every time I took it out someone was taking a picture.

When coming home from PTS I seen a woman driving a SEMI and taking a picture of us in her side mirror. I have had video taken on the interstate, Flash burn from all the pictures taken driving around the Indianapolis Speedway ...........BUT THE BEST TO DATE....I drove the Cat to meet Dave & Nancy Ridge in Connersville one nite and parked it on the street in front of the restaurant and when we came out there was a few older ladies walking across the street and one of them keep looking and ended up falling down in the middle of the road. She was Ok, Dave & I went to check on her, she didn't get hurt but maybe her pride.

Have had a picture taken once to my knowledge, by one of those phones with the built in camera. But here's what I like to do: I go down to the local grocery store that has a starbucks inside. I get my morning JAVA FIX, and go outside and take a seat at a patio table/chair set the have out front. The Pretty Kitty is always parked in the FIRST space, or it is not parked. I then drink my java, smoke a cigg, and watch the looks the car gets from afar. I do not look like the kind of guy who could afford "that type of car" so nobody ever picks me sitting there as the owner. I did overhear a womam comment to her friend once as they walked by "The guy that drives that, must be compensating for something !!!"

I love it. I notice that people will try to look like THEIR NOT LOOKING, when in traffic, so I never get to REALLY see the reactions. My way lets me take it all in, as they dont know I'm watching them. Kinda fun.

Mostly men that want to look closely. Lady folk, tend to not care much, here anyway. If I was single and gay, I'd be hooked up......

A lot of women say the car is "cute". That drives me nuts. Say it is cool, neat, anything but "cute".
Tonight I was getting gas and an older guy (older than me, even) got out of the pickup at the other pump and walked all around the car. Kept telling me how nice it was and the first one he ever saw.

I hear "Cute" too when referring to the car. And yes, it's annoying to hear it described as cute. If I wanted cute, I would have bought a Miata, dammit!

I've also seen people pointing their phones at the car...obviously taking pics. Camera phones give me the creeps.

Mostly everyone in Winnipeg give me the thumbs up, and lots of photos. Even a few wedding photos. I was at the park with my brother last year, he had his Corvette convertible out and I had my Prowler. Well this beautiful bride came up to me and asked if she could stand by the car. Well, I told her to jump in. I placed a towel behind the seats, on the top part of the car, and they both sat up there, with her vail hanging off the back of the car, and took many photo's up there. Now I wish I took their name, so I could have a photo for my scrapbook.
With the good, comes the bad, and yes, a lot of jealous people, and some nasty comments. Christina

I have been contemplating getting some 3x5 reprints made at
Walgreens that I could give to some of the kids. They are
cheap enough.

Wake-up you "CUTE" worriers. That's lady speak for: "Man, I,d like to get me some of that!" Meaning, the male driver of course.

The Cat is more rare in the Northeast so most people have never seen one. I notice the time of day has something to do with the reaction to the car.

06:00 am - 10:00 am (very little)
10:00 am - 4:00 pm (a lot)
04:00 pm - 6:00 pm (some)
Evening hours (a lot)

It seems when people are half asleep and focused on getting to or from work, they glaze over.

PS the time of day reaction (TODR) is different on weekends. Maybe we should take an informal survey.

I totally agree with CJ and jmcant. You've got to be a people person and be able to talk to strangers if you are going to take a Prowler out in public.

I've had all kinds of looks and questions about my Kat over the last 21 months of ownership. The best line I have heard was from a lady who turned to her husband and said, "Even you could get some in that car"!

Possum9 - Yeah, the kids love it. The photos are a good idea. I got the idea from someone on this site to give kids matchbox Prowlers. Thanks to CJ and Bob I was able to get 2 cases in yellow. This lights up the kids, the parents and sure makes me feel good too.

You know, its always a nice feeling driving the car. Its fun watching people turn their heads and stare as I drive by. I especially like the reactions I get when I pull up behind a school bus. WOW. Almost every kid waves and yells out the window " COOL CAR!".

Shortly after I got my Kat 2 years ago 5 guys approached me at a car show. They said they were in a band and wanted to take photos with my car. I agreed.

The photographer accompanying them must have taken 50 photos. As they were leaving they promised if they ever got a record deal that my car would be on the cover of their album.

Haven't seen anything yet, but it sure caused a stir at the car show.........
