Is the search feature case sensitive?
When I am looking for example, "Chrome grill" I get plenty of replies but maybe only two about chrome grills or just grills.

I believe you have two problems there:

1. The way people spell. This is solvable. If I wanted to search for "grill" or "grille" or "gril" or "chromegrille", etc., I would search for "gril". This will pick up ANY word containing the 4 letters "gril".

2. I believe you're having this problem, which is not solvable. Anybody who lists their grille (in any of the above formats) in their tagline will show up. This will get you MANY hits that have nothing to do with the content of the post.

Sorry, I don't believe there's any good way to search for posts containing "grill". If anyone knows how to filter out the "gril"'s in the tagline, I'd like to know as well.

Thanks.

I typed in "chrome grille" in the search box, chose "all open forums" and received 200 responses back.

Are we saying the same thing?

The 200 responses is saturation, there are more than 200 posts containing one of those words, so the search stopped at the 200 maxmum.

I did the same - one of the posts is:

=============================
"NEW VIRUS .. W32.Maldal .."
=============================

Nothing to do with "chrome" or "grilles". It came up because pumpkin listed the following in his tagline:

===================================================
Current mods: Mopar dual exhaust & front mudflaps; MacMotorsports Air Intake;
Real Rod Air Patrol; Graphics by Balistek Designs; ($8) Chrome grille;
Chrome tire valve-stem covers; Painted rear bumper lettering
===================================================

Chrome Grille is a hard term to search for because of all of the taglines that contain it.

Another HUGE problem is some people quote other people and include the entire post when all they need is one sentence to make their point. What a waste of band width and time for someone searching later. They even quote themselves a lot.

I guess I will have to spell grille one hundred times.

Tom..........didn't mean to start any consternation (that is c-o-n-s-t-e-r-n-a-t-i-o-n) with my answer. I am well aware that the search is not easy to use without having specific key words. Sometimes, it's impossible to narrow it down other than a general statement. However, it's also interesting to go back and read some of the older posts, whether or not it has anything to do with what you're looking for!! Good luck with your search!
