Anyone know if there's an easy way (i.e., A DaimlerChrysler web tool) to plug in your VIN and see if you're still under warranty? My cat is an '01 and I'm the second owner, so I'm not sure if I'm still under warranty or not... and I really don't want to drive the 140 mile round trip journey to a local dealer to have them check out my prowler if it's not covered by warranty anyway. (I have a small transmission noise that may or may not be a problem... see my post in the 'technical' board for details) |

Welcome Elambeth... from another P Newbie. This a super website to let out your Cat enthusiasm, problems, inquiries, etc. "My cat is an '01 and I'm the second owner, so I'm not sure if I'm still under warranty or not... and I really don't want to drive the 140 mile round trip journey to a local dealer to have them check out my prowler if it's not covered by warranty anyway." As per your inquiry, one of the first admin. thing I did after cat cruising in excitement was call the dealer told 'em my VIN & mileage, etc, Voile', they told me all the details inc. ball joint recall done or not done. After reading this, betcha you will get many welcoming feel-good greetings... Just like what I got when I joined. After a while, many will make u feel like 'ol long lost genuine friends, even tough they are strangers near and far in Prowler land. Awesome FunBunch to e-interact with.. |

Welcome to the 3 yr old local newbie. I got one question tho... which Houston do you live in that your local dealer is 70 miles away? Good luck with your fix. Post your findings here for the rest of us if you would please. ------------------ |

It'll probably be a 20 minute wait, but you can get that info from the Chrysler Customer Service Line. -GRROWL |

Welcome elambeth. You'll love it here!!!! I got my Prowler (2000 Silver) a month ago when it was almost 4 yrs from the in service date. Whether your Prowler is still under warranty or not, you can still get an extended warranty through Daimler-Chrysler like I did. I got a bumper to bumper no deductable warranty that covers me for 7 years from the in service date, and up to 50,000 miles for $1635.00. In my case that gives me 3 years, 2 months, and 42,000 miles of coverage. It covers everything except normal wear items..tires, brake pads, battery, etc., and I can go to any Chrysler dealer. If they have to keep the car it even covers up to $30 per day for a rental car. If you're interested go to extended-warranty-pro.com , or call direct 1-877-539-8363, and ask for Brett. I figured it was well worth the money because one major repair would cost more than that. Hope this helps you. Mav PS If you do call him, and give him your VIN he will be able to tell you if you're still under warranty. Original new car warranty was for 36 months, or 36,000 miles.
