Tonight I beat my all time best at Moroso. My 97 Prowler is complete stock engine except for MTD air intake.
The Best I have ever done is 15.009 sec @ 88.9 mph
Manufactures Spec said 15.3 sec @ 87.9 mph.

I did a:

14.705 sec @ 90.59 mph.

Occurred at 10:03PM, 72*F, 75% humidity.

The key to my great run is I let it cool for about hour with the hood open. Pushed the car with the engine off almost to the starting line. I wanted to use Ice on the intake but they prohibit ice in the staging lanes. I am very happy with my time. Next time I am going to try Dave Ridge's Home Depot ram air kit?

That's a good time alright. The 97's had a cast iron block if I'm not mistaken. And a different intake??

Take off front fenders air the fronts to max inflation and air up rears till they spin. Leave the line and put your left side tires in the tracks on the right and the right side tires in the marbles. I picked up almost 4 mph, 112.78, STF...

You could also tape up the grill, I did that also.

Nice pass

Brian.

Congrats. You have the World's record for a 97 Plymouth Prowler based on the time slips I've seen posted...

Thanks Guys. Looking forward to trying again soon on a cooler south Florida night.

I was out at the Track with C5Frank and his 2000 Silver Prowler stock. He ran once and got 14.861 vs my 14.989 but Franks Alternator was acting up so he decided to go home. Good thing to because he barely made it home before the battery quit. Frank said the best run he has ever done and Moroso is a 15.60 for a stock 2000 Prowler (OEM intake).

I think If I rig up the dryer vent to the intake and get ambient air in the engine I might be able to get in the mid-14's. Plus I am hoping to get the Mopar Prowler exhaust (not sure if that will help). I try to get my time slip scanned in.

Your right... 1997 cats have a cast iron block & intake. The intake has a dual throttle body. Engine Only put out 219 HP.

Do you think the Prowler Purple color had something to do with the speed and time? I would think so (LOL).

Brian.

According to C5Frank, he ran a 14:69 on 2/27/02.

Thanks Laddie for the Info. 14.69 was his best time. Maybe someday I'll beat him?

Congrats on the run!! Thats a great time for a 97, and for any Prowler! Yep.... my alternator finally checked out. I barely made it home... the volt gauge was at the bottom and the last mile the only gear I had was 3rd.... the lights went down low.... But I made it. The flat bed came and took her away this morning... not a happy site. It's too bad she broke.... since I cleaned out the airbox she's been feeling back to her old self again. I think Brian and I would have put up some good heads up runs. The last time we went we ran together 4-5 times... it was cool.... Glad my 01' has the extra power... his Kat can boogie.

Autostick or drive?

Vp fuels makes a 93 octane unleaded which will make you MO power, do not run anything higher.

You'll love the smell

I was running Citgo 93 octane.

Mods planned is a Mopar exhaust, think that will help me?
