Here we are again. I'm really getting tired of the Dealer. I have had my KAT into them 5 times for the fuel gage problem (showing 3/4 full when it is full). I take it in they look at it and say they will order the part and when it gets in they will call me to come put it in. So each time I go it is one time for there great mechanics to "look " at it and try to figure it out to order a part, then come in again to put it in. I so far have had the WC4 changed, the CCM changed, and the Gage changed. I called the Service Manager back today to tell him that still did not solve the problem and that I had seen someone here on the POA had the same problem in CT. and had them replace the fuel control valve package P# 15093967AA. He says he can not order that without approval form the top so I told him to get it. Of course he has not returned my call.
I know several of you members work at Dealerships so give me a hint as to what to do? I do not want to go to another dealer because he is all the way on the other side of town, about 35 miles, besides they are suppose to be qualified mechanics at ALL dealerships. That's what they say when they sell you the warranty. I am also arguing with them about a new top because of the cut caused by the handle problem, no luck there either. It is not the point that I "must" have the gage work correctly, it more the point that the car was not cheap and they should be able to fix something like this. If they can not do this why would I let them do any major work.

Same exact problem with our orange cat,,,,frustrating. Fill it up, goes to 3/4s. Drive it 35 miles, it drops another 1/4 of tank. Shows empty with gauge tank light on by 135 miles.

Who has the answer?

I'm the one in CT who had the part put in to fix the gauge problem. I don't know why they are giving you such a hard time? You may get some help if you call the dealership I went to, it is Stevens Ford in Milford CT.

Good Luck

Chris

I also have the problem of the fuel guage showing less gas than is in the tank, but my guage does go all the way to full. I would rather have it fixed, but its better than the reverse of having less fuel than the guage reads from other prev. posts!

I have had the same problem with my Orange Kat since the day I purchased. Two fixes - none worked. It seems like a guessing game with the techs. What ever happened to the "trouble shooting technique"? Instead of "lets replace this and see if that works".........

I have had the same problem before. But it only happens once and a while. I really havent tried getting it fixed considering that my warranty has expired. But also my dealership as here is pretty horrible. They are supposedly a 5 Star dealership. Who knows where the mecanics came from.
