My wood ward has a Paintcode# PXT / Trim# LAZ And MDH# 020114344AA
What do your cars say? As far as we know only the pin stripe and the window sticker say a true woodward or Black Tie Maybe the Vin sticker on the drivers door will tell us With paintcodes and trim codes?

Thanks in advance

I called up the dealership and provided my vin. This is what they have in the computer system for my Woodward.

Paint Code: PXT QRD. PXT is for Black, QRD is for Red.
Trim: LLAZ. LL is for leather bucket and AZ is for grey.

If your paint code is solely PXT then I wonder what this means? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

Didn't all woodwards start life as a red prowler and all black tie's as a silver? So there may not be a code for the two paint colors.

Also, I think the VIN's are not sequential for either lot. I also read somewhere that Dr. Ru numbered them as he did them irregardless of the VIN(meaning there is a possibility that Woodward #20 has a VIN lower then Woodward #3). Same for black-ties.

DC has two paint codes for my Woodward in their computer system.

Yes, check the post about Vin #'s re: Dr. Ru #'s vs. VIN's of a week ago or so.

YellowFever and NightProwler, in my opinion, the Woodwards did not "start life" as red. All Woodwards were started with a black tub. The engine compartment is black, the door jambs are black, the trunk is black, the hood top and bottom is black, the trunk lid top and bottom is black, and the two side view mirrors are black. The grill is red as are all the side and back panels. The doors are red on both sides with only the upper portion of the outer doors painted black.

firegabe, my Woodward (#36) has Paint Code PXT, Trim LLAZ with a MDH 020710 344AA.

Since even the manufacturer lists only the black paint code on the door sticker, I think that it is fair to say it started life black!

Firegabe,
Call your dealer tomorrow, and ask them to run a Knippen Report which will give you all the option and codes that were on your window sticker. It will also tell you the vehicles history from new, any recalls that were done, the paint code and the in service date.
