After taking care of business at the Virginia DMV, I went to register my 2001 Plymouth Prowler for the first time at the Alexandria, Virginia tax office. In order to calculate my county personal property tax, they looked up my Prowler in their NADA book. They couldn't find it. I told them to look under Chrysler and still they couldn't find it. My tax was then assessed on the purchase price which is ok for this year. But in subsequent years I don't want to continue paying tax on the purchase price. Does anyone know why the NADA does not have the Prowler listed?

I went through this a little while back with my Viper. You just have to know where to look

Start here:

Click on the year of your car, and you should be in good shape

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, the guys at the tax office do it the old fashioned way...they use a printed copy of the pocket-sized guide. Next year I may just direct them to the link on the internet.

THe black tie was $2000 more for the 2001, that was at high retail.

The Prowler has been moved to the exotic car version of the NADA

Typically, all fields in NADA or Kelley are alot higher then
what buyers or especially wholesalers will pay.

If this is for tax purposes, I'd take it to a local dealer and
get them to put in writing what they will pay for the car.

This probably will be alot less the NADA wholesale price and
might save you some dough.

Just a thought.
