I have a question about the extended warranties, is one only eligible to purchase one through a DC dealer if you are the original purchaser of the vehicle. When I purchased my Kat from a posting here on the ProwlerOnline web site, I was told it had a 7/70 power train warranty that I could transfer to myself. However, DC says it isn't transferable. Now in reading over some of the posts here it appears I am not even eligible to purchase an extended warranty since I was not the original vehicle purchaser. Help -- Glenn -- |

Glenn - Since I know where your car came from, and if I remember right, you are still under the factory 3/36 warranty. Call 1-800-521-9922 = DC Service Contracts Department. Have the VIN# ready and find out what extended warranty, if any, Joanie had on that Prowler and if it is transferable. Maybe they just had the extended powertrain only warranty that was kicked into some deals for cars that had been sitting in stock too long. The people at the above phone # will give you the facts. If it is transferable, you have 60 days from time of purchase to get it done,,,,no longer!!! If the above is the case - power train warranty only, I'd suggest calling Bob at Causeway Chrysler in La. In my opinion, you should be buying the MAX CARE extended warranty available even to you as the second owner. You set the mileage maximum and deductible you want on a seven year warranty ( seven yrs from in-service date of the car when originally sold ). Quote from Laddie R. --- "Call Bob Cooper at Causeway Chrysler in Covington, La. 800-259-5337 0r 985-892-9165. The costs is $100 over dealer costs on whatever plan you choose. This is for the Chrysler MFg extended warranty... Costs vary depending on what & which type warranty you want." This dealership has the best pricing available on the DC extended warranty. We saved you the time of shopping Glenn, now get on the phone! ------------------ 28,000 miles of smiles

In case that doesn't pan out, there are also 3rd party extended warranties out there. A search for extended warranties will find the thread(s) for you. ------------------ |

Glen I am the second owner of my 2001 Prowler. The in-service date was Nov 15 and I bought the Max Care extended warranty on Nov 14, with zero deductable from Causeway Chrysler and paid $1,235. That allows me 50K miles during the life of the warranty. So you can certainly do the extended warranty even if you're the second owner. Give them a call...I'm sure they'll help you out. I believe the orginal DC extended warranty can be transfered only once for a $50.00 transfer fee...I wonder if that could be modified from the 50,000 miles to the 100,000 mile 7 year program? |
