Took the Prowler to a car show on Saturday and left a winner....

1st in the domestics class - beat an 03 Z06
I received a total score of 88 out of 100. I got 10 points deducted for no safety equipment. My hubby won best of show with his 91 GMC truck "CopperHead"

I'm very excited

I am with CT, what safety equipment did they want?

Fire extinguisher? Roll cage? Parachute? ejector seat? Remote cut off switch?

Congrats Teri! Where was the show? Do you have Fred's email address to get on his list for local events? I would like to enter a few more shows once in a while. Let us know where they are.
I imagine the safety equipment you mean are: jumper cables, fire extinguisher, oil, gas can, and water, maybe some road flares. These are pretty common displays at car shows that add to your point total, but not all shows have the requirement to display them. I found out the hard way. Always ask.

CONGRATS Tim and Teri!!!

Maybe they wanted oxygen tanks for all the people who admired the car and wish they had one?

Congrats,,,, :D

I think they ask for fire extinguishers with the car. They do here, at least in the applications.

thanks everyone....
at most small outdoor shows they give points for fire extinguisher, road flare, oil, gas and water cans. It's a silly thing, but some judging is based on this. I'm on the list with Fred, but have been unable to go to the events. We don't drive the Prowler much and sure wouldn't take it out of town or in bad weather. She's a garage queen....

My experience is that they want to see a Fire Extingusher and a First Aid Kit. It must make them think you are responsible!!

Congratulations on the car show win. I went to a little show here 2 weeks ago and the judge looked at me said "I don't know anything about these cars" walked around it once and said "I am done" and that was it. When they gave out the awards for the top 25 1975 & newer 10 of them were for Corvettes (everyone that was there) and another was a junked up 79 Malibu that had a hood scoop on it! I got a kick out of it because if it doesn't have a Chevy motor or owned by one of the clubs friends are you just there for a good time which I had. I was the only one letting people sit in the car and giving matchbox cars to the future hot rodders. I had a great time!
