I woke up to the sun shining and the temp at 60. Not a cloud in the sky. A few of us decided it was just too nice to pass up. As the day progressed, it warmed to about 80, but humidity was low. One of our members, Smitty, had the flu and couldn't join us. I met Jim R and his wife Laraine, and we hit the road to Rich Diamond's estate. On the way there, Jim saw danger ahead and felt the need to protect me by running over someone's chest cavity at just the right angle to throw it two lanes over, out of my way. (Its Halloween, folks... think skeleton.) Fortunately there was no damage to his car. Such a skillful driver that Jim is! From there we took a run down to Galveston, making a pass down the strand, followed by a run down the seawall, where we encountered Mark and his orange Prowler. Mark had visited the POA site a couple times, but didn't know we had a local group. We told him a little more about the POA and Lord of the Looks and hopefully, we'll have an orange cruising with us soon. A short drive later, we stopped and had some seafood for lunch and took a drive to the dock area to see if there were any cruise ships there. There wasn't, so we headed for home. At one point on the way back, we had 3 lanes of open road ahead of us and were only being held up by a stop light. I, being in the middle, shifted into neutral, looked right to Rich, left to Jim, and as I started to rev my engine menacingly, the light changed... ITS ON! Rich romped down on his supercharged kat and took off. Jim hit his gas and followed a close 2nd. I sat there and said, "HUH? the light changed already??", popped it in gear, fishtailed the rear end a second, and took off thinking, "MAN, I'm bad..." It sure was a great day for a cruise! ------------------ Mickey 1997 Plymouth Prowler #156 Custom car cover Mopar front splash guards Real Rod stainless steel transmission cooler cover Mopar Trailer hitch and harness Real Rod weekender 1992 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE Longhorn scratches Boomerschlobber This message has been edited by idive on 10-19-2003 at 11:37 PM |

idive, If you decide to go on another cruise like you did today please send me an e-mail. Myself and another Prowler will drive from Port Arthur to join you guys in Galveston. I was in Conroe today going to the renaissance and I seen this Red Prowler. I tried talking to the guy, but with the flow of traffic it was difficult. Johnny |

Johnny - send me your email address and I'll email ya next time, but this was really a spur of the moment thing. It was just so nice out we took advantage of it. Nothing was planned ahead. We just decided to cruise out to grab some seafood somewhere near Keyma. We talked Friday night about heading out sometime this weekend. We just decided this morning to go. Free - I was trying to take a certain pic that I just cant seem to get. None came out. The only ones that did are 2 of them after the "race" that I took driving down the road from between them. They might have some more. Mine weren't anything to look at. Judy - we left about 10am... tell Mike that I sent him an email. Or, if you heard laffing earlier... he got already it. |

Mickey - your knuckles are white from holding unto the steering wheel too tight!!! Was the pace too fast for you on that cruise? May a diseased Oklahoma armadillo deposit a wet log in your driver's seat |

Where's the pic of the Prowlers all lined up on that sloping seawall on the east part of town. Always thought that would make a great pic. |

AC - Okadillo logs have those little indian beads in them that you can hang from the rear view mirror. Fragrance, AND looks. Wayne, I may just put that pic on my list for the next trip there. |

Mickey - I always thought those little indian beads were live parasites in those logs,,,, I guess I'll save some up for my mirror accessory |
