Just checked, bid id not $31,300.00. Maybe the price has bottomed out on our Kat's and in the next few years will inch up. Hopeful anyway...

I contacted the seller. Nice people and they are serious at selling even at $30K. The reason the car was painted he said is that the hood got scratched and they decided to go with this paint scheme. I am keeping an eye on this one as it seems to be a good buy. Not sure if I like the combo or not, but it would be a unique Kat.

The high bidder outbid himself, two bids in a row and he is a new eBayer, zero feedback. Something COULD be fishy with that auction. Someone may be running up the price for the seller. I don't understand why anyone who had the high bid would bid again right away.

Ed -- It may be that the repeat bidder placed a maximum bid that is higher than the minimum required. When someone else bids, the high bid will return to the repeat bidder.

On the other hand, I also worry about bidders with no history and would suspect fraud. Don't you just love eBay?

I got a feeling the prices on Kats will fall a little bit more over the winter and then start creeping up. The used values won't rise as long as new vehicles are being dumped on the marke for 10K below sticker.

I plan on buying another one or two this winter IF the price is right.

Once all the unsold new ones are gone, I think the values will begin to rise!

Ed --I buy alot of cars on Ebay. 2002 Candy Last Oct. Jaguar XKR Nov and 2001 Blue in June. Plus alot of other stuff. If you just outbid a guy at $30000, say by $100. You might worry that that guy will somehow outbid you at the last minute with a $30200 bid. So you put a price on what you are willing to pay say $34000. You already are the high bidder at $30100 but put in another bid at $34000. If no one else bids you get it at $30100. If someone at the last minute wants to get the Kat then he has to keep bidding past $34000. Reserve price can change this whole scenario. I have had very few problems on ebay, i check Feedback and make my decisions based on it. If you have any questions let me know.

Chuck, thanks for pointing that out.
It will be interesting to see what the final price gets to.
