Running at 80% preferring the stock grill in some fashion (as is, chromed, or with the door guard Alley Cat chrome kit). With all you mod crazy folks around here, I expected those numbers to be different! I guess the 80% are lurkers, while the ones that do the mods are the heavier posters... Mike, I have been a little mod crazy lately. I'm choosing mods that retain a stock flavor. I have added the Borla-Mopar exhaust, Jay Harris' billet aluminum center caps, removed the wipers (billet aluminum caps - bullet), and am in the process of replacing the "black" front suspension parts with chromed ones. I checked preference of the chome stock grill. I noticed that you indicated that had your grill chromed. Are you satisfied with the results? And, if so, who did it for you? Thanks, This message has been edited by Terry on 09-16-2003 at 02:52 PM |

I PERSONALLY like the horizonal ribs of the stock grill, so a chromed stock grill would be my preference. ------------------ |

I bought mine from the Classified section here on the POA web site. It came from a yellow cat, the screw tabs on the inside are still yellow. I like the look. I think they should have come that way from the factory myself (there I go again tossing opinions out!). I think it blends in better with the chrome behind the headlight lenses than the stock painted one, although I hung unto my Candy Red one as a spare. I am definitely not anti-modification! I have done...
I would love to add a Borla/Mopar exhaust and the new $895 gears... and I would like to see those billet center caps in person too. But I can't seem to get any Prowler mod purchase orders through the system just now... Mike

When given a choice,my preference is with the stock grill which kinda fits with the black theme I have with the rest of the car(bumpers etc.). |

Since i did the Alley Kat grille treatment, Chrome grilles are at the bottom of my list. Its rising on the list though. I've done many Mods, and before you know It, It's next. ------------------ |

Our Kat had the $10 grille treatment for over two years before I went with the real rod grille. But now that have have the new one I like it better. Especially with the Jay Harris custom upper suspension brace showing through. |

I really like all of the grills available. Different strokes for different folks! Its too bad DC didn't offer the option of chroming the grill. Having said that,,,,,I'll say the Alley Cat Chrome Grill Treatment System will go down as the most innovative and inexpensive modification done for a Prowler. Something the guy did to my grill was to paint the underneath of each horizontal plate black. That way the reflection does not show the seems in the plastic This message has been edited by KatAddict on 09-17-2003 at 07:00 PM |

I really like the chrome factory grille and agree with JMCANT1 - it should have been factory. I did the Alley Cat treatment for economic reasons and it really improves the look of a silver kat and does blend in real nice with the headlights. |
