Today I decided to try out a different Chrysler dealership for a Mobil 1 oil change on the Prowler today. I figured what the heck it's closer to home. Now I don't think it was worth the drive I saved because of the price, but I'll determine that later. What do you folks usually pay at a dealer for a Mobil 1 oil change? Thanks, |

01 - I think you are going to see a charge from $45 to $60 at a dealership. I pay $19 for the 5-qt Mobil 1 jug and $5 for a Mopar filter, and do it myself. JMO |

My dealer's price of Mobil 1 went up to $15 qt.!!! My serv. manager is so cool, he told me to bring up the oil myself. walmart has the best deals on Mobil 1. I just pay for labor and filter there. |

Well, Sounds like you all got it figured out... I paid $75.00 for it. I know I paid less at my usual dealership. They charged me $8.36 a quart, and I paid for 6 quarts.. Ron |

Yikes....I know nothing about cars, but I knew if I didn't learn how to do anything else, I needed to learn how to change the oil. It'll save you a lot of money and you'll feel better knowing it was done right. |

After years of changing my own oil, it's not worth it anymore....Too much of a pain to dispose of the oil, and getting the car up enough to get under to the filter....I've had it. besides, When I take my car to the dealer, they know me, the car, and there's almost always something else for them to look at while the car is there. yes you should know how to change the oil yourself, but my back is tired of crawling around underneath....If only I had a pit or lift...LOL |

That's the way I feel.. If I had a pit I would do it all day long. However spending 2 hrs doing an oil change isn't for me. I had rather drop the car off, and leave it or wait 30 minutes and drive away. Ron |

Paid $3.77 a qrt. at Walmart and put in a Mobil 1 filter in 30 minutes. First time I changed oil myself in 15 years. I will continue to do it! Too EASY. Other cars can go to the Dealer. |

My dealer did it the first change only..... after the $58 bill (AFTER I told em they could get it for $18 for 5qts at WalMart... then I do it now. Use the MoPar filter. Takes about 20 mins max, and the 'dump' is only 3 blocks away for me. |
