Hi Everyone. I have a 2001 Orange Prowler and i wanted to know if anyone is able to decode the VIN to tell what number my car is. I would also like to know how to tell if I have a Chrysler Orange or a Plymouth Orange. Thanks Guys! |

Plymouths had color-matching insignias on the hood, Chryslers had black. It is said that there is no way to tell production numbers from the VIN. -GRROWL |

....Plymouth will say Plymouth on the hood badge and the driver side rear bumper....Chrysler, rear bumper is plain....you can find out when the car was made by looking at the door or window sticker, look for MDH... month/day/hour.....individual sequence numbers are known only by DC at this point.... |

The sequence number portion of your VIN # is only a number that DC uses to determine the actual production build # of that particular car. It is not giving you the actual production number your car is. ------------------   |

Tangled, FYI there was an Orange Plymouth was at Prowlin the Falls with a plain left rear bumper. The owner purchase the Kat new that way. It was definitely a Plymouth. Just when you think things are cast in stone something like this appears. |

My build date is 2-01. MDH is 020811. As I understand it, that is Feb, 8 at 11am. When looking at the last 6 of the VIN [702349], what tells me what number did mine come off the line in 2001? I have researched there were 3137 Chryslers built. When did production start and could mine have been the 2349th Chrysler built? Can I assume the sequence number is for the 2001 model year? Thanks in advance for any clarification anybody can give! |

The challenge with VIN sequence is that the plant shared the last six VIN sequence with Viper. |
