I've got a Mulholland trailer on order from my dealer. When I ordered the trailer, they were given a delivery date of mid-June. Being mid-June now, I called the dealer and they said they don't know when it will be delivered. They called Chrysler and were told that the mid-June delivery date is off and when it gets here, it gets here. Is there anybody on the POA with access to inside information that can determine the delivery date of a trailer? This message has been edited by DRFoster on 06-23-2003 at 01:06 PM |

I was given the first week of July for my Mulholland trailer, and the Dealer confirmed that a couple of weeks ago. He said he was told it was one of the last three when he called them. ------------------ |

OK that's more than three! When I talked to the Dealer, they said they spoke directly to the trailer manufacturer. Are your dealers telling you the same thing? ------------------ |

My dealer doesn't have any idea how to contact the trailer manufacturer. It looks like there are three Mulhollands that were ordered at about the same time and a purple ordered in Feb that hasn't arrived yet. So who knows? |

hey guys, a bit of inside info, if you are interested. i have been in touch on a weekly basis with the company that makes the trailers for chrysler, the girl i speak to is very nice, and seems to know when these orders are "actually going out" her name is lisa at 1-800-635-4637 i'm sure if you call her and tell her the dealers name that ordered the trailer, she will be very helpful. good luck--------sam ------------------ |

Thanks Sam I called and found out I won't be getting my trailer till Sept. But I did find out the right color was ordered. I guess I won't be using it this summer for traveling. |

I too, called Lisa at the number Sam provided. She told me my trailer will probably be delivered to my dealer the end of August or first of September. She also mentioned that they have 31 trailer orders in front of mine, some dating back to November. At least I know they do indeed have my order and that I need to wait. Kind of blows any extended travel with the Prowler this summer though. |

to answer your question, the exact reason that i was given by the owner of the trailer company was "we have a rush order for fiberglass bed covers to be fitted on the new dodge hemi trucks, so everything else has taken a back seat till the orders are filled for the covers" that is the reason. with a stinken reason like that, i would like to put the owner in the "back seat" of the prowler--lol sam ------------------ |

Good News - Jerry at Gillman confirmed that my trailer order is in with the manufacturer! Bad News - They delayed my delivery date from the first week of July until mid August! Worst News - There are no more trailers available for purchase. If you have not purchased by now and you're not on the delivery list - you are not going to get one! Jerry was going to ask them if they are going to produce some extra tubs and parts in the event someone wrecks or damages one. ------------------ |

We have word that they are resuming trailer assembly on July 12. twistedjester..........unfortunately, there won't be any more as far as Chrysler is concerned. I've already gotten them to build 200 more trailers than what they had left at the end of Prowler production. At that time, they had components, but no wheels. They agreed to purchase more wheels because I assured them that we could get them sold... which we have. Now they have no more components and no more wheels. The trailers components, frames, interior, paint, wiring harnesses, wheels, etc. were done by a number of different vendors. If they wanted to continue building them on their own, they would all have to get permission from DC to continue producing their specific parts for the trailers. Perhaps not all of them would want to. The company that does the frames and tongues is also the one who titles them. DC was accommodating enough to build the extra 200, but they aren't interested in doing any more. It's a business decision. ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Yes it is a business decision albeit LOUSY! It aggravates me to no end the way D/C has left Kat owners high and dry. You would think the Prowler is 20 years old or older when you go to buy a stinking car cover or heaven forbid you would like to replace the floor mats. Don't even think about trying to get the cup holders that straddled the console. We all have to line up like peasants seeking flour when someone decides to part with a few trinkets. I love my Kat but I don't like being treated like this!! The SSR is looking better and better to me all the time. |

SirReal.......sorry you feel that way, but keep in mind that: 1) This car was not a production vehicle which had an unlimited life. 2) The accessories that you are talking about are just that..accessories.......that they never had to make in the first place. Again, there were no plans for this car to be built more than 5 years maximum. 3) It isn't financially feasible for them to continue making these accessories if there isn't a big market for them. Remember.......there were only 11,703 built in it's lifespan. 4) How many cars have their own car cover anyway?? 5) I find it interesting that a lot of the Prowler owners (except for recent buyers) never bothered to purchase these items until production end was announced. Then there was a huge rush to buy everything up. If people had been purchasing these things all along.......it would have created more of a demand and maybe they would have continued some of them. 6) I worked hard with Mopar to get them to extend the life of some of these accessories for a while. They are now down to the mud flaps and floor mats.......as long as there is a demand for them. And what makes you think that the situation with the SSR might be any different?? |

CJ..Sorry I feel that way too, I'll keep in mind that: 1)No car has an unlimited life production or otherwise. 2) They didn't have to make the accessories in the first place, but they did.(for some) 3)It was financially feasible for them to accept my $40,000. Even more feasible when some paid double the sticker price.(yes I know that's the dealers doings) 4) I'm only concerned with the Prowler cover. 5) I find it interesting that a lot of Prowler owners didn't bother to purchase these items because they were trying to recoup from the initial investment, all the while falsely thinking their day for these accessories would come. 6) I really appreciate that you worked hard to extend the life of some accessories, but you shouldn't have had to. What makes me think that the situation with the SSR would be different is that it is a Chevrolet product. I've owned a Corvette,Camaro,Astro Van,Cavalier etc. and the word consumer confidence comes to mind. My Kat is a 2002 purchased in November of 2002 and I just think it's too soon to discontinue these items in that short amount of time. I still LOVE my Kat and think it's the most beautiful car America has produced bar none. I just feel let down by D/C. |

It seems to me that: You want it even more, once you know you cant get it! Im HAPPY I got my Prowler and a few goodies for it. I am thankful for that, I dont blame the DC at all. This is a one of kind car, I feel lucky to even have it plus THANKS to CJ/Bob I got a discount from them. They gave me the Friends Program... There 2 sides on every coin and you can take that to the bank! Just my 2 cents... PS with only just 11,700 Prowlers ever made, I thank GOD I even have 1#. Well, the reality is.........that's corporate life and corporate decisions.......whether it be DC, GM or Ford or any of the others... Not going to get into an argument with you about it...it's not worth that.....but remember that it was Chrysler that had the vision and guts to produce the car in the first place..........no one else did....and we all made our own decision to plunk down whatever price we all paid for the car (and you can thank the dealers for that, not DC).......obviously we wanted it bad enough. I never thought I'd be lucky enough to have one....let alone two!!...and the rest of it doesn't matter to me! |

You are more than welcome to your opinion......as am I! I didn't miss your point, I just don't happen to agree with all of it. I think you missed my point too, and I know you don't agree with me! So, I guess we agree to disagree! .......and that's what makes the world go 'round! and originally, I only posted on here to update those owners who are waiting for their trailers and to explain to another owner why there wouldn't be any more trailers. I'm on to other topics! This message has been edited by CJ on 07-01-2003 at 11:02 PM |
