okay - so I don't own a Prowler yet, but a lot of you have seen me "prowling" these boards, or e-mailed me in person. Well - I've been hedging on buying Prowler or Viper for this winter, and I made my decision today. Absolutely 100% Prowler - and it's all because of the people on this board, and the people that I've dealt with that own Vipers. I own a business out of my house for part time work (car stuff, but won't shamelessly plug it here) - anyway, a guy calls that owns a Viper, leaves a message of what he wants. So far, so good - but true to form, as a lot of people have "warned" me - this Viper owner was a DICK! I called him back, and the good Dr. said, "I'm with patients now." - and that was it, he hung up on me - not even nice about it. No, "I'm with patients, but I'll call you right back." - NOTHING! Pure 110% jerk! If I recall, he's the one that called ME first!!! un-freakin beleivable That is one thing I know I would NEVER get from any of the Prowler owners - EVER! So much more down to earth and laid back. Sure, the Prowler might cost less, so you're not a "rich person" status, but you know what - fugg it, if everyone I get to hang with on cruises is cool, and never hang up on me - that says more than words ever could. Thanks for making my decision so darn easy!!! oh - and to top it all off, I'm not one to sit back and be treated like third class sh*t, so I promptly joined up with the Viper Club of America board and if I don't get a call back from him tomorrow, I will sure as hell post about what a jerk he was - and make SURE it's the #1 post all day long! LOL later everyone! |

It's a shame that one person can spoil your view about an entire group. We welcome you to this group and hope that you are able to get your Prowler and join us....not only by participating on this board, but attending the events and meeting all the wonderful Prowler owners. If you need help finding the cat of your dreams, please feel free to contact me. I have a list of all the new Prowlers available across the country and I can put you in contact with dealers in your area. You might even be able to use a Friends and Family certificate to purchase your cat! ------------------ Classic/Beautiful - I'm referring to the Cat of course! |

Rich, You'll enjoy the Prowler, in Rochester they are so very rare! You could always try to win the Prowler that Channet 8 NEWS is giving away this summer? ------------------ |

Rich, The Canadian Prowler guys have great events in Ontario, you should hook up with them when you get your cat. I only know one Prowler owner in Western NY and he moved to FL... wonder why? ------------------ |

SWEET! I'm in for ALL weekend trips north of the border! I'll need to get a weekender and trailer hitch then too - but they look cool, so no biggie. Unless my wife doesn't want to go, and then luggage sits in the pass. seat! I've actually got quite a few customers on the way to Toronto (in Niag Falls and Hamilton) that I could swing by and visit too - nice write off there ;-) Brian - I can't imagine why he'd move to FL - lol (although, he sold his Prowler didn't he?) |

Glad you like the Prowler but, I wouldn't write off a car just because 1 person that owns a Viper appear to be a jerk. A number of Prowler owners here have 1 or multiple Vipers and a bevey more have ordered one or are considering one. Tread lightly grasshopper |

RJCALNAN.... Hey give the kind doctor a break....maybe he is a proctologist and had his nose up a patients a$$ ...What a way to earn a living ....Welcome to the POA....A Prowler is for sure a very fun car, but don't dismiss another choice just because one person was rude....get what YOU want....Viper/Prowler, neither is a bad choice....I would have to say I have had more fun in Prowlers than any other car I have ever owned.....get the color you want and drive it as often as you can, far more fun than looking at them under a car cover.... |

next question is.... what year and color??? If you want an '02, then you are limited to silver, yellow, inca gold, and deep candy red. |

ahhh...color is easy ... because for me it's only two choices (which could actually make it VERY hard) Prowler Purple Any year after the new engine was put in is cool with me. Preferably not mod'd at all so I can do it myself. If you've got any lines on one for sale in the Oct/Nov/Dec time frame let me know!!! thanks all! p.s. - I would never write off getting the Viper instead if it were just for that ONE guy, but I hate to say it, but it's been multiple people that have just treated me like sh*t - and frankly, it ain't worth the chance that the people at the cruises will be like that - I'd rather chill with you guys (anyway - I've got a LONG time to save up enough for a Viper anyway - I'm still pretty young yet) |

Rich, You can actually fit a bunch of luggage in the Prowler, you just have to pack FLAT. When my g/f and I take trips I rarely bring the trailer because the car isn't has much fun to drive with the trailer on.(Although, you do get a lot more looks.) We pack several grocery bags lay them flat in the trunk and put somethings behind/under the seats. Surprisingly it holds a lot. Ben from Roc, NY sold his silver cat and got a 2000 red with a paxton supercharger ------------------ |

YellowFever, I have to disagree. I am buying this car for the soul purpose of showing off, and hooking up with other Prowler folks and doing the weekend cruises, either locally or nationally - so unlike a lot of people, I am buying for the people as well. It's a Jeep thing...you wouldn't understand! ;-) It really is though - the Jeep folks inspire such a "community" feel in the vehicles, that you don't just own the Jeep, you are part of a family. The Viper folks have hardly made me feel like "family" |

Hey Rich Funny thing about Prowler owners. A lot of us Canadians also own Jeeps. I didn't know it till we had a winter meeting and lots of Jeeps showed up. One of our local Prowler owners owns & runs a 4x4 school and of course he owns a Jeep. I own an 82 Golden Eagle whch is now considered a historic vehicle. Bonus no more emmissions tests. But most of us guys up here Do Understand its a Prowler/Jeep Thing. Welcome Alan |

Don't let one guy be your gauge on Viper owners. Although i just this past weekend heard a similar view. When i'm working and the phone rings and i already have someone on hold, one of the kids comes in my office and starts asking if he can squirt the dogs with the hose? Well it might not be the best time to talk to me about buying insurance. I know people, i sell houses to them, if you want arrogance move to CT. In life if your successful, have alot of things its hard sometimes not to come acrossed as arrogant. If you weren't self confident you would have never gotten there. We all have Bad Days. I want a 2004 Viper, but its not going to be a contest, who's better Viper owners or Prowler owners. Viper owners certainly will have a tough time stacking up to the Prowler people i've met! ------------------ |

Rich welcome to the POA. I had the same problem with some Viper owners in GA. Now I know that all Viper owners aren't like that. But even one Viper owner at the Southeast Mopar meet came over and spoke the us Prowler and the PT owners and said he wished the Viper group was more like us. He was a really nice guy. He was pretty much the only Viper owner that would even speak with us. Even when we tried to strike up conversation with them. By the way PT owners are great folks to hang with. |
