From day one (new) my Kat has been missing the right front splash guard clip. I told my service writer about it several times and she kept giving me the run around about it.... well it appears she is no longer at the dealership and I spoke with the service manager and talked to him about it.... He said no problem we will get you a new fender. He also cleared up some other things that I had been given the run around on too. But my question is this...
Should I go for the new fender knowing the paint wont be just right, or just live without it?
My Kat is silver and I know how hard the metalic is to match....But I figure I can have them respray it if it's too bad right? But I have lived without it so far.. even though I have the splash guards new in the box waiting... maybe live without it? Whatcha think?

They should be able to match the silver the first time, then keep the old fender and sell it to me as I found a use for them and need several!

It's the clip you attach the splash guard to. They told me the clip cannot be ordered off the fender. Thats what they said... I have been going round and round with this for a year now!
Bob... if I do it and they let me keep the old one, I'll let you know.

Frank is missing one bracket/clip that is bonded on the inside of the fiberglass fender (i've seen his Cat). The bracket/clip that holds the splash guard onto the fendor. The fender is a factory defect because the clip/bracket didn't fall off, it was never put on when the fender was made. As far as keep the old fender when he gets a new one, doubt it will happen because with any warranty work the old parts MUST be sent back for credit.

Frank - if your only concern is them being able to match the paint, please remember the fender is away from the car body so a MINOR shade difference that may be noticable if on adjacent body panels won't show on the fender. They should be able to match the paint anyway.

I don't know if it is the same for the silver, but I used an excellent body shop. They had a difficult time matching Yellow until they switched to Dupont Paint. It now matches perfectly, sunlight or nightime
