When I bought my '97, I tried to insure it properly according to its value. I told my insurance company that they only intended on making them in limited numbers of 3000 the first year, but that they only made 457, making it even more rare, and more valuable. They wanted to know what "normal" production numbers were for any other car in a given year to compare it to. Could anyone out there tell me what "normal" production numbers would be? |

They made around 11000 kats. They are not antiques yet! Just insure it like any other car. Your insurance Co knows its value, presently. If you want to park it in your garage covered for the next 20 yrs, yes its going to be worth alot more then driving it. I wish i had all the money i spent on insurance in my life, i wouldn't be working now. Don't over do-it with insurance. If you bought it as an investment, think again put your money in real estate, there is only so much land, and somebody owns it! Drive it, enjoy it, take care of it! Unless you own 15, then just drive one, save the rest. ------------------ |

idive. You can go to this site and on the right side you'll see small info window North American Car & Truck Production. There's a click here to get complete detail bymfg and model of weekly, monthly and YTD production figures for all US & Canada mfg... Just for reference GM builds 35,000+ Corvettes per year... ------------------ |

That is going to vary widely depending on the price of the car as well.... Like Laddie said, 35K Vettes a year.... But I would be careful not to make your insurance company think it is so rare that your premium is outrageous. Plus, like CT said, they should have that information and not be relying on you for it. t |

I look at rarity like this, if all cars in my senario are in the States this is how I look at it. There are 1.1 million Vettes, 1 in 250 Americans own one. While driving my Vette this weekend I saw 6 other Vettes. I have only seen 7 Prowlers, ever. You tell me where my 35k is going when the Vette gets paid off? The Prowler has just so much WOW, the color selection rules, it's American, it's an icon. There will never be another one built. |

Even here in Palm Beach county I rarely see Prowlers, vettes are a "dime a dozen" down here. In the past 3 months I've seen 2 other Prowlers on the road, and 100's of vettes. ------------------ |
