Is there a right and wrong way to get in and out of the Kat with the top up? I'm only 5'9'' BUT chubby with a gut and I feel like a fool everytime I pour myself in and drag myself out.... I have only driven the car about 10 times so maybe it just takes a lot of practice. |

i felt foolish at first also but after watching my 15 year old basketball playing granddaughter trying to exit the car and the trouble she had I stopped caring |

I open the door, grab the steering wheel with my right hand, stick my right leg in, and follow with my butt into the seat while ducking under the top. Works pretty well for me and I can do it relatively smooth and fast. I'm 5'11" and go about 185, so I'm no skinny guy either. |

pocotoo: Kraut's way is as good as any. There is no easy way with the top up. Just try different ways until something is comfortable to you. People question me all the time about how in the world I can get into my Kat. I'm 6' 5" and about 250 lbs. I really don't care what I look like getting in and out because I KNOW I've got a ear to ear smile on when I've just either finished a trip or I'm getting ready to go on one in the coolest and best looking car ever made! ------------------ |

You will figure out the best way for you in time. I'm also about 5'9" and 250lbs, so rather on the large side and I do not have much of a problem getting in and out. It has been so long I cannot give you any hints though. I think the best hint would be for both of us to do some sit ups....LOL ------------------ |

I'm 6'1 300 lbs. Only way for me is head first, bend right knee, sit on on butt, turn my head to avoid collision with top. Then swing my left leg in. I have to stick my head in past the shifter. Needless to say i'm not planning on driving with top up much!!! ------------------ |

Nobody mentioned how to get out!! The method I use to get out is to stick my left leg out of the car to terra firma, twist in the seat towards the rear of the car, put one elbow on the left side of the steering wheel and the other on the left side of the seatback. Then push your arms back and you will pop right out of the car with your right leg in trail. It sounds complicated, but it really goes in one nice smooth motion. BTW, it helps in getting in and exiting if you have the seat all the way back on the rails. ------------------ |

I find that if you put your arm again the side of the seat and use it to help push yourself out of the car it really works well. Hope this helps. |

I haven't found a really good way to get in/out of the Prowler. I'm 6'3" and 225 and can't seem to get my head to clear the top when its up. I have the same problem with my Viper. I decided the only easy way to get out was probably to roll out of the car onto the ground and then get up. Hard to look cool that way though so I haven't tried it. Howard ------------------ |
