Found an article in the "DC Times" about Viper statistics...was just curious how these compared to Prowlers.....
Article states...
*** Viper has one of the most loyal owner groups in the world...POA is no wimp !!!
*** 85% of Viper owners have a strong emotional attachment to their car....next closest was 77%...(Prowler ?)
*** Viper owners are different than other sportscar owners...Median age 47 years old, Vette-Porsche median age is 50....seems like on our message board survey the median age of Prowler owners was 49...I don't really see this as significant...
*** Viper owners are usually the sole wage earner in the family...surprising to me, considering the price of the car...Prowler owners ???
*** Viper owners have roughly twice the average income of Vette and Porsche owners....also surprised me, not that much difference in price of the cars...
*** Viper owners tend to own their own businesses making them more "independant minded"...didn't quite understand this one....maybe just more certainty about their future,...
*** Viper owners tend to buy other Chrysler Group cars at a much higher rate than any other company product studied...was the Prowler studied ???...Have many Prowler owners purchased other DC products BECAUSE of purchasing a Prowler ???...
*** Viper owners are 24 times MORE LIKELY to purchase other DC products than if a Viper had never been purchased....how did a Prowler compare to these ???
*** Vipers impact, or "spin off" effect on the rest of the Chrysler Group has been tremendous.....Did Prowler not forshadow the PT Cruiser ??? RETRO STYLING ??? Did not other manufacturers jump on the retro bandwagon ??? Look at the new concept cars at the auto shows the last few years....Chevy SSR, Ford T-Bird, Ford 49er, Ford GT-40, etc etc...I think the Prowler has had possibly the largest impact of any modern era vehicle in changing the face of the auto industry, at least until the next new idea comes along....I just thought this was interesting and caused me to think, ponder, wonder what the same study would have said about the Prowler.....I certainly don't dispute the article about Vipers, just wondered what impact the Prowler would have had on the DC product line with a V8, 5 or 6 speed, lotsa color options,...coulda been a contender !!!

I don't match the stats...but I know one thing:
I love Vipers
I love Prowlers
(I guess that's two things )

these are the two coolest cars that ANYONE has ever made!!
Viper=unmatched performance and looks for the price
Prowler=coolest looking production machine ever.(period)
Personally, I don't see how anyone could argue that.

Both cars demand more attention on the street than a supermodel jay-walking......

Holly #@$@#$.

Is this a joke?

I match everyone exactly except the age. Although, I will be getting a Viper in 2003 and I turn 47 that year too.

Damn, someone is doing their homework (or calling my wife.....)

Even thought these statitics seem to down play the impact of the Prowler and possibly hurts our feeling to some extent I think it is probably pretty much on the money. Keep in mind that the Prowler was released as a limited production vehicle from the very begining. Therefore resulting in allot of speculation / investment buyers who had and have no real loyalty to the Prowler itself. I know that offends those of us for which the Prowler is a passion, but I think it is sadly true. I also think the owner statistics are accurate as to sole wage earner and with high income owners. I think the Prowler is the most reasonably priced exotic on the market.
(The Prowler is now only listed in the exotic car volume of the Blue Book). I think you will find owners in the POA fall into all levels of middle income to the upper income. This is probably a good barometer as to the Prowler owners outside the POA. I know I could not afford a Viper without replacing both of my current vehicles and that is even less practical than owning a Prowler along with another vehicle. As to the Viper's affect on Chrysler and then DC sales there has been an addage around since the early days of NASCAR that say it best. Wins on Sunday equats to Sales on Monday. I think the Vipers lengendary and highly publicized performance and recaing prowess has boosted DC's image and sales considerably. Besides, how many people have you encountered in your Kat that don't know what a Prowler is, much less who makes it. While I do agree that Prowler is the likely one of the leaders and helped give birth to retro style movement. Also keep in mind the the original Vipers styling queues had many similarities and was heavily influenced by the 60's Shelby Cobra. JMO
