I frequent a certain bar in the Dallas area everynight, and last night some low life jealous piece of scum keyed my kat down the passenger side too bad I couldn't have seen them do it.

Anyone know of a good place to get this fixed in the DFW area????

Thanks,
Ron

Isn't this the same city where the other guy keeps getting his car keyed at his apartment? Perhaps the same guy has now taken up drinking.

Seriously though, I learned along time ago you never take a nice car to any bar for several reasons. 1) Well intentioned drunk leaving the bar hits it. 2) Someone with a few drinks under their belt opens their truck door into your new car 3) The drunk with the "I can't afford one so I'll ruin yours" mentality or 4) a fight between drunks ensues in the parking lot and your car repeatedly catches the guy getting knocked down.

Ron - that's really discouraging. I will never understand vandalism. As much as it would pi$$ me off, I certainly wouldn't quit driving my car. That would just mean the culprits won.

If I didn't drive my car anywhere where someone MIGHT be able to damage to it, it would just be sitting home in the garage collecting dust. I hope you get it repaired and get back out having fun in it. Cars are for driving!!

That Sucks! I'd be afraid of what would happen if I caught someone doing that to my car!

It's pretty much a rule with my Kat - I don't go anywhere that I can't see the car when I get out of it. Too many people approach it in a parking lot, and you never know what the jealous person or smart a$$ is going to do if your not around.

But that doesn't mean I can't take it around town and have fun. I am just more careful when I'm out in the Kat.

01, I feel for you. I agree, I do not understand the mentality of some people that can't leave there mitts off other peoples property. Do what you feel is best for you, and certainly enjoy your Kat. It is a very unique auto!!

That's ok... The owners of the place love me, and are keeping their ears open for me... Seeing as I'm one of their "best" customers... LOL

I'm starting to think it may be same scumbag that spit on it a few days ago....

I went out and got a couple estimates this morning.. One was $750.00 the other was $830.00

So it's not really that bad, but the thought of my car having paint work pi$$es me off..

I'll definately be back at that place again tonight with my keyed car, but there will be eyes on it, and if someone sees something 1/2 the bar will be on him/them with a quickness...

Paybacks suck, and I'll get my moneys worth one way or the other...

Ron: I'm so sorry to hear about your kat! That's not cool! Unfortunately there are always going to be jerks who have no respect - no matter what city you live in or where you go. Had that happen to my Vette years ago - took it all the way down to the fiberglass. Good luck on catching the culprit - sounds like you have a good network around you to help out!! I don't blame you for not being run off from your usual place to go. If I worried about taking the kat everywhere I went - and yes we have taken it out for the night because we enjoy driving it - the car would never be out of the garage and we'd never attend any events! Enjoy it - drive it - and catch the jerk!! For paint work you may want to check it out with Neal at Bankston - he probably knows someone. Need anything - let us know! Tami

Be careful, battery is fairly easy to prove while keying a car might not be so straight forward (they could claim they just walked by the car and then you and a mob attacked them).

Last thing you want to do is have them own your car and you sitting behind bars wondering what the heck happened.....

ouch,

I am the "other" guy here in Dallas that has had several "incidents" with my Kat

Camera is best approach (if it is an ongoing).

I am getting an alarm with a microwave sensor that will warn away people that get in my Kat's "personal" space.

I feel your pain...a painted Kar can never really be the same again...you, the owner, will always know.

Let me know what shop you decide to go to.

I caught the guy on tape, now waiting for the system to do its part....then I will....
