When viewing another topic on the weekender noticed the pics from KenG's Hot Kat showing that he covered some of the bolts:

We did something similiar but also covered the bigger bolts just above and the transmission cooler bolts:

We also covered the bolts on the front after removing the front bumpers

Just thought everything looked much better.

Norm.....I'm still looking for the larger caps. Where did you find them? I have been told to check out the Harley store and the truck stop stores. Any suggestions?

Some of the larger truck stops have them like PETRO and TA Truck Stops. You would probally do better if you can find a truck parts shop that sells chrome accessories. Look in your phone book and call some of the truck parts shops and ask about the covers you need. Hope this helps.

We got the 10mm & 14mm bolt caps from PepBoys. When looking around for something even larger Norm noticed a tray full of 'freeze plugs' and they come in many sizes. We used them on the front bolts - drilled a hole in the freeze plug and then put a 10mm bolt cap on the threaded end of the bolt. Added a little clear epoxy to make sure they don't fall off and there you have it.

Freeze plugs shine up really nice - we also did this to dress up the valve cover:

They are not permanent - just put them in place for car shows only.

All my exposed 10 and 12mm bolts under the hood are chrome cap covered.

Norm - looks good. I never thought about the bolt heads exposed under the rear section,,,,,,,,now I have more to buy.

That's an old East Coast trick AC - I forget the last count, but I went crazy covering all of me bolts in the rear & in the engine & I almost done with the trailer... PepBoys has to restock yet again... I even put the covers on the bolts inside the rear bumpers which are exposed by a 2 inch slot under the bumper... I use a mirror at car shows to show off my custom tranny cover & neon & polished frame & if you look for them, you can see the bolts in the bumper... Now I just have to cover & tighten a few of the bolts in my head

I do like the idea for the larger bolts, I too am having a hard time finding the larger covers...
