More than 1200 cars entered in the 4 day Ocean City show last thursday through sunday. There were three other Kat owners that I know present. One Kat owner(who didn't drive his there-belongs to the other club)reintroduced himself to me. He's now thirty three. I coached him in basketball when he was eight. I won a trophy presented by "Wheels of Yesterday". It is 39 inches tall and is titled "Outstanding Show Award". Sorry Jerry, Niteman, and Mean Gene. You guys didn't stay around to witness my shining hour, but I do have the trophy. |

BlackTie 161; For your information, I also won a trophy at Ocean City Convention Center Oct 25, 2001, at the "Rock, Roll and Remember" contest. We had 65 contestants in that one. They announced 3rd thru 9th winners in reverse alphabetical order and I was the second name called, therefore, I was either 3rd or 9th or somewhere between 3rd and 9th. I went approx. 1 month without shaving, got a red bandana, a wig with a pony tail, denim vest and pants, cowboy boots, a western belt, and a gold medallion. I didn't believe I could make myself as ugly as Willie Nelson but I did. Come to Old South Country Club tomorrow night at 7PM, you can be my guest, and we can both do Karaoke. |

They stopped the boardwalk parade permits at 7:30AM, and only allowed the first 250 cars to drive the Boardwalk. They had a total of approx. 1300 registered cars, with approx. 2000 people in attendance at the Inlet Parking Lot. |

Thanks guys for all the responses. It feels good to be a celebrity for a change. By the way, there were many 60's GTO's, Chevys, older Corvettes, and many many older cars. It's gratifying that the Judges would find my little 2000 yellow Kat worthy of a trophy. Perhaps it's the color. I'll bet Butchcee would agree it's the color. Who else would agree it was because of the color? |

Larry, Congrats on the car show trophy! Also congrats on the singing trophy! I had no doubt you would get something for your singing. If I had sung the place would have emptied out! lol Anyway, I don't think it was the color of your car that won you the trophy. All colors of Prowlers look good. My guess is that Ioka had something to do with it. She shines brighter than any old trophy. Seriously, your car looked great considering all the rain. Also you had the location, location, location. Take care. ------------------ |

Niteman; you could possibly be correct on more than one aspect. Ioka, whom I characterize as the perfect woman, didn't arrive at OC until Friday night. The trophy was awarded on Friday, even though I didn't know it until Sunday. By the way, I didn't have a "front row" seat on Friday like I did Saturday, but I did have a good position, a second row seat. It was much better location than you and Mean Gene had. In summary, it must be the YELLOW. How do I describe the perfect woman? "All chest and rear end". |
