Congratulations to Bob Goetz (King of the Prowler Bracket Racing). He'll have to carry the crown for a year or so.... Well, we had terrific time out at No Problem Raceway. We had a Jambalaya lunch provided by Causeway Chrysler from Covington, LA. Than we took a couple of touring laps around the 1.8 mile road course. Someone back in the pit areas said that it was an awesome site watching the multicolored Kats maneuvering in sync around that course. After a little instruction from Pat Joffrion (Track owner) we began the Time Trials around 1:15. We had real heavy sticky air (temps were low 80s but the humidity was around 80s as well). Not best for times, but perfect for having fun... I've posted the Bracket race results and best times for each driver from the day. There are a couple which I can't separate because we had different drivers using the same Prowler and car #. So, I'll edit as I get feedback... We had 20 Prowlers and four non Prowler vehicles including an 02 Z06 Vette. We had 23 racers run the Time Trials, 11 people entered into the Bracket Race and 44 people out at the track. I think this was the first time on a track for about half of our group. Another first was the Lady Drivers. We had five Lady Drivers including my wife Karen (which was a total shock to me). I've been after her for three years to drive but she always said no (she has ridden with me in the past, but never driven). Well, now I think she is hooked (I didn't think I would get her out the car...). It was fun just watching the Lady's having such a good time... The track provided me a list of all times and the tech cards. Here's the results of each round of the Bracket Race and the Road to Victory for Bob Goetz: ... Prowler Drags Bracket Race ...
Thanks again to all who came out and had a good time... ------------------ This message has been edited by Laddie Roussel on 10-15-2002 at 06:15 AM |

Laddie - I figure I have a 7 second Prowler.....I ran a 14.0 with three burnt plugs, so I should be able to run 7 seconds when I get all six cylinders working again. Thanks for all your efforts Laddie - everyone there had a great time. Marty |

quote: Fred - everyone you mentioned were no shows. Laddie had only supercharged car, I had only nitrous one, three other cars had gears. I blew up on first run - you REALLY must have a special fuel pump - I was only dialed in with a 97 1/2 HP shot of N20. BTW Laddie - Tami was faster in our bracket race - but she broke out, so I can at least I can claim a technical victory. I would have much rather have lost and kept my engine in one piece! |

Laddie: As always, looks like you held a very cool event. Great times and close times for the mostly stock Kats it appears. Interesting that your time isn't THAT far off from the Z06 with the it's high power V8!! Way to go POA people |

Marty, I hope you don't mean you really "blew up" the engine, did you?? That would be a for sure bummer!! ------------------ |

Fred - I guess it depends on how you define "blew up". It is still driveable, but I burnt three plugs was blowing oil out after putting in new ones. At cruise speeds, I can drive it OK but can't get RPMs very high. Until I get the engine torn down and repaired, I won't be racing! |

Marty-sorry to hear that your engine is sick. From my experience, you detonated and broke the top ring lands. You pumping any oil out the dipstick tube? Maybe you can put in some forged standard comp WEISCO's the next time around. Congrats BOB This message has been edited by butchcee on 10-14-2002 at 10:08 AM |

Marty is absolutely correct - I broke out - so he beat me. Not that he wouldn't have anyway - I do know that normally I stood no chance!! As it was if Rebecca wouldn't have left that lipstick case on the seat he would have gone a couple of seconds faster too!! Next time I'm cleaning the car out before racing - we still had about 100 lbs of clothes etc in there and I'm asking Bob how to dial in!! Bob - way to go on your win big guy!!! quote: Tami - you won!! But, I was just staying behind you because if I got in front all the smoke from the burning oil on my engine might have blinded you and caused you to wreck into my car! So Reba did leave stuff under her seat?!! All that extra weight had to cost me precious time. I want a rematch. Let's all meet back there in a month!! ------------------ Driving my Dream |

All of you who missed it.........missed a great time!! The drags was worth the whole trip for me!!! I had a blast runnin' my car for the first time ever!! I stayed pretty consistent the whole day. If I had to lose to Bob G........at least it was because I was too fast but hey.....at least I made it to the semi-finals!! This message has been edited by CJ on 10-14-2002 at 06:59 PM |

The darn car has so much torque I just kept spinning the tires and lost valuable time. I need slicks next time. Maybe take offs from the Prowler. C. Sandy's hip hurt so bad she did not have the usual thrust (don't go there Sasquatch) D. I can't drive and my reflexes are shot. E. The car is a total dog F. All of the above. |
