All the ads and catalogs that Chrysler/Plymouth put out the Prowler has never been featured in the line up of vehicles, why?

See where is the PROWLER?

The Prowler is always stuck in the back of the catalogs or not featured at all.

Excellent point! I have been wondering the same thing for months.

I've come to believe it's because the Prowler is NEVER included in any of DC's incentive programs and because they stopped production in February.

Why make the effort and spend the money to prep, photograph and promote a vehicle that sells itself?

Because they ended production and have known that it was only going to be a five year run. Why advertise something that isn't mass produced for availability? They never advertised because they knew they weren't going to be able to build enough of them.

At the very beginning, back in '97 or so, it was on a few bill boards. There was a line of DC vehicles, and at the very end was a Purple Prowler. There was also a commercial out at the same time. During the last few seconds of it, a Purple Prowler scampered into view, and then was gone. Both of these ads were teasers. Unfortunately, I don't have copies of either one.

Does any one out there have a copy of these ads?

I also remember one Plymouth TV commercial years ago featuring all the Plymouth Cars including the Prowler. A guy and his wife were sitting on a porch, as each Plymouth car drove by he would get run closer to the road. When the Prowler drove by he tries to chase after the car, but the wife yanks his leash back. Can someone post that ad in mpeg format?

NOT TRUE!

I have the "2000 Plymouth" 20 page brochure in front of me (black cover, Form No. 74-383-2022). The cover shows the Neon, Breeze and Voyager in purple and the Prowler in silver - the Prowler actually stands out the most this way (Prowler was not available in Purple for 2000). This was an early in the model year brochure since yellow was not shown as available.

(Note that I'm actually DEFENDING Chrysler. Will wonders never cease).

I have wondered about that when I see DC adds too, but I must admit there are a few billboards around here (St. Louis) with a Sebring, a minivan and an Inca Gold Prowler.

That must be the "least liked" billboard in St. Louis! (lol)

Ok, ok, I'll get over it

Kevin, I would bet that the billboard is in the ghetto. lol. You will NEVER get over it. We won't let you. The internet is forever, as some of my old pictures will attest.

I'd love to find a copy of the commercials in any format. This would be a fantastic addition to the collection. Any chance DC would consider making these available or do you think they were local productions? Would the artwork of the billboards be accessable?

When I was in St. Louis at the beginning of August, on the way to the airport I happened to see a billboard that had 2 other cars and I believe a silver Prowler on it.

Brian.......are you speaking of current ads or from the life of the Prowler? There have been ads in the past that included the Prowler. I've been working on my Prowler collection in my copious spare time...ha ha.......and the latest part of the project is getting together all the media information I have on the cat. Video, magazine articles, ads, press kits, brochures, etc. In my quest, I decided to raid Bob's car magazine boxes. Now, he's been subscribing to a multitude of car magazines since 1965 and we've hauled (or I should say the movers have) these boxes of magazines through 11 household moves (including 6 state-to-state moves). I used to swear about having to store these boxes in the basement (I mean, when was he ever going to look at these things again? The response was NO YOU CANNOT GET RID OF MY MAGAZINES, you never know when I might need one of these articles...), but for the first time in 35 years of marriage I was glad he saved everything! So far, I have over 70 different magazines that featured Prowler articles!!!! Even I didn't realize how much press Prowler actually got.....and it wasn't all bad!!! The search continues...............lol!
