Contact www.logonuts.com. They carry locking logo valve stem caps. You may have to call them as when I bought mine they were not listed on thee web site. Cost is about $12.00 more than the non locking sets. Marty |

Don't shoot the messenger, I just report what I read - from the 2000 Service Manual. Make your own, informed, decisions: "the valve stem is part of the tire pressure sensor/transmitter and is used as its antenna. If corrosion were to develop in the valve stem, it would affect the ability of the tire pressure sensor/transmitter to send the radio frequency signal . . . . . . . . THE VALVE STEM CAPS USED ON THIS VEHICLE ARE SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR THEIR USE ON THE VALVE STEM OF THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTER. Each valve stem cap has an O-ring in the upper end of the valve stem cap to provide a positive seal at the end of the valve stem. -GRROWL |

quote: LOGO CAPS have the O ring. I've had mine for 3 years and no problems. Just do not over tighten them. They do have an anti theft cap with special wrench. Marty has them on his I believe. I have seen them but until mine are missing I don't need to buy any more. I have stock cap handy and just checked it. It doesn't have an o ring but a molded seal surface in the cap. ------------------ |

Larry, I also have had the logo caps for some time. (over 2 years) Just need to be careful when you put them on. I originally put a cap on and the "O" ring went on crooked, it pinched down on the air value causing it to leak slowly. When tire sensor went on and I went to inflate the tire I found the "O" ring had been causing the problem. I firmly believe that the logo caps meet OEM specifications and conform to the Tech manual instructions. I am waiting for the AC Seal of Approval to be issued and then Grrowlwill be able to update the TECH manual.. Dan G. |

I had my cat about two weeks and a teenager said, "I can't believe you have those black valve stem caps". I had not even noticed them at that point. I bought 4 chrome caps and then the "air sensor light" question was brought up. I had kept the originals and still have them but I have just the generic chrome ones on the car. Later, one was stolen so I had to buy another one. No problems with the low pressure light in almost 3 1/2 years. |

Thanks everyone, I broke down and ordered the locking caps from www.logonuts.com yesterday. Special thanks to MeanGene for his thoughts, prayers, and generosity during this difficult time. I too will have two extra logo caps in my glove box, should I be in a position too assist in someone's loss. |

I just noticed tonight that someone stole the cheap chrome caps that I put on the PT. Since someone had stolen one once before, I only had three left. They took those three and left the black one on the right rear. You have to be pretty hard up or pretty stupid to steal generic chrome caps. I guess they have a momento like the hood ornaments from the Caddies and Benz only worth slightly less. |
