Hi,
Has anyone had a problem and hopefully a solution for a key sticking in the ignition? My 02 has decided to hold onto my key. Maybe she still wants to go for a drive. It makes it difficult to leave it anywhere though. I don't have time to get it to the dealer until next week and was hoping that someone may have a solution. Thanks John

Wiggle the steering back(right) and Left while pulling on the key and you might get lucky.

Hope you don't have your dodge truck keys in there, Alley KaT, shhhhhhh.

Well here is solution #2. The most obvious one.... The key won't come out unless the car is in Park.

Thanks for the posts!
Tried both prior to posting also tried moving the car back and forward and then putting it in park. Tried depressing the brake and then starting and shutting off the engine too. Anyway thanks for the advice any others?

I had a similar problem on my 99. On occassion, it would not shift entirely into park. Try jamming it into Park to see and if it works, get it adjusted

This has happened to me a couple of times. One time it was not in park and the other time I had rotated the ignition back too far. You know how you can turn it back one click so you can listen to the radio and stuff?

oops.

Here's the behavior my car exhibits:

If I turn off the ignition BEFORE putting the tranny in park, I can't remove the key EVEN AFTER putting it in park.

In other words, the tranny MUST be in park before turning off the ignition in order to remove the key.
