First off I would like to thank everyone on this site for their great help and support. I began looking seriously at a Prowler over a month ago. I had only seen one on the road before I passed the group out in Lancaster, PA. That sealed the deal, I figured if that wasn’t a sign, then what was. I was talking to a dealer friend that had a trade in on his lot. It was black and I was not to thrilled. I posted to the classifieds that I was looking for one. I was contacted by one of you great member’s who was selling his Prowler. One week later it’s in my garage. After having it now for two weeks I have to say that the Prowler is the coolest cars in the world.

I would like to also mention that this website is unbelievable. It is amazing that there are so many interested and enthusiastic Prowler owners out there. I would also like to thank Mike for creating and supporting this site. Without this site I don’t think I would have ever bought a Prowler.

OK, enough of that. Now as a new owner what do you guys feel is “The Best Bang for your Buck” Mod?

Hello neighbor and welcome. I am in Edison and make a few runs a year to the Keyport fishery. Looking forward to meeting you at upcomming runs. Alot of us will be making the Skyline cruise ( check events ) You should look into joining us. Best bang for the buck has got to be the $12 chrome grill treatment.

Welcome aboard. Not thrilled about black? Haven't seen mine yet. Be careful, the $12.00 grille treatment is really $22.00 after you send Alley Cat has $10.00 user fee. Happy prowlin!

Welcome, Matt! My vote for cosmetic mods would be get rid of the front bumpers (see www.realrod.com for covers), chrome grill treatment, shimmers. For performance - Cold Air Intake (see www.magictouchdesigns.com ) less restrictive exhaust and ProwlerPro Gears.

Marty

CONGRATULATIONS MATT!!!

I've been waiting to see your first post as a PROUD PROWLER OWNER!! Matt bought my Prowler and drove it home the Friday of Labor Day Weekend. Matt's Prowler already has the important stuff such as the front and rear Mopar splash guards, the Raybestos ceramic front brake pads and the front suspension brace. Now he can concentrate on the "fun" stuff like Shimmers, etc. Matt...May I and the whole Prowler family wish you many miles of smiles with your new Kat. Matt wrote me after he got the car home that his face was still a little sore due to the permanent smile he seems to have on his face these days. I will be waiting to see the rest of the "welcome" messages that the Prowler family will be posting as these guys and gals are the greatest group of folks you could ever want to be associated with. Enjoy your new Kat every day and keep posting on this great website so we can all keep up with the fun you will be having with "the coolest car on the planet"!

Cordially,

Mike

Matt Congrats on the new Kat. I have to go along with the $10.00 Grille Treatmnet. Also paint the bumpers to match. I get more compliments on having done this than anything. Also aftermarket exhaust and cold air instake.

Get a chassis/shock tower brace.
Even if you install one of the inexpensive ones available($30-50), the handling improvement and ride quality will be very noticable.

Matt, I sure wish you would have flagged us down or followed us in PA until we pulled over. We could have given you all kinds of tips. I think the curb feelers or Larry Lord's coon tail is the best imporvement. DO NOT take advice from Marty Usher on upgrades or you will be in the poor house within 6 months. lol.

Since you already have the mud guards, next would be the grille treatment and bumper shimmers. From there be prepared to spend a few "bucks."

Ed - too late, I already emailed him a list of the essential 53 mods you must have for under $4897.00 total and the "if you have the money 26 other mods the factory should have provived" list. I thought I would let Matt digest these before I sent him a listing of my remaining mods!

Happy Prowling

Matt...........congratulations on your new cat and welcome to the POA. One of the first modifications you'll be making is to your lifestyle!

Since you bought a cat that already has some of the basic "first" mods..........I would go for a new exhaust system. There are many different kinds. The Mopar/Borla is what I have on both of my cats, and Jay "Shimmer" Harris also offers a great exhaust system for the cats!

Welcome Matt. A trailer hitch to have a Weekender http://www.realrod.com/we.htm, or a Prowler trailer for those trips.
