Disonnect your battery for a couple of minutes and give it a try. That resets the computer and it will POSSIBLY work. It is worth a try. You will lose the code in the computer. (But you won't need the computer code if it works.) |

Since you recently had both sensors replaced, it sounds as if one or both have failed again. Being this is a high failure item with Chrysler vehicles and from my past experience with these failures, I carry in the Yeller Cat spare sensors and a 1 inch deep socket as extra insurance. It certainly is worth a try of disconnecting the battery as suggested by Ed. Sorry, I can't be of more help. Good luck, Jay |

Just spoke with Curtis up in northern Arizona (God's country) and he is going to take his cat into dealership in the morning. He just had both transmission sensors changed two weeks ago in Calif,,,,,,,,,,strange they would (one or both) would go out again, but he will find out the problem soon. If that is the problem again, I told him to pick up an extra input sensor for a backup. Their planned trip is now set back one day from where they wanted to stop, but he is still chattering and seemed in good spirits despite the problem. ------------------

Curtis - I sure hope you get the prolem resolved quickly. I am going to learn from your experience and just sent an email to myself at my office to order both sensors to take on our next trip to Cruising the Coast. |

My sensors failed in WY becuase some wires were shorting out. Have them check the wires. Mine had peviously been cut and then spliced. My car has never been worked on except at DC dealer. I have owned it since new. |

Curtis, I should have explained that I had a bad sensor and they did replace it. By disconnecting the battery it would work until I put it in reverse and then it went back into "limp mode" That was probably summer 2000 and no problems since. It did take a couple of trips to the dealer before they did it right. In between trips I disconnected the battery a few times until I could get back to the dealer. |

Hope you got back on the road again. I have not experiended this problem yet, but may buy the sensors just in case. When you mention Prescott, it reminds me of my trip with my motorhome to Prescott and then up the mountain to Jerome. No place for a 37' motorhome towig a car to stop in Jerome and nowhere to turn around. Quite an experience and quite a trip on to Dana Point. |

Just for the heck of it I cleand the batt cables so I had an excuse to un hook the battery for awhile, checked all the grounds I could find, pulled the wires from the sensors and the conecter from the TCM to check for dirt or loose conections all came up nada ting-- hooked it all back up ck light out put her in gear steped on the go pedal 2ed gear only the engine light came back on in about 5 ft. so gonna wait until am get the senors and install myself- if that dont work will try a tcm if they stock one the only other thing I think it could be is the solinoid pack which is on the valve body. thinking serously of trading it off for who know what nothing else I really want, maybe a harley truck or new t-bird but of course another prowler would be nice, but still owe about 14,000 on this one, so all depends on the price anyone haveing the chance for an extended warranty dont put it off like I did go get it now curtis |

Curtis, Sorry about your car. The best thing is, if you're still in Prescott, go down to Whiskey Row and have a drink. Hopefully, everything will be ok... ------------------ |

When my car was running for just a few days It went into limp mode, I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and it wasn't long enough. Did it for 10 minutes and all was fine, hope this helps. |

Curtis - sorry to hear of your troubles. I can certainly appreciate the frustration of being "stuck" while on a trip. Hopefully, your problems will be resolved quickly and once you are on your way again, you will reconsider selling your KAT. |
