Well, took the 2002 Yellow in to get a scuff painted and had the service guy take a look at the top. First question was, "did you buy this here?" Uh, oh. "No, you didn't have any when I was looking." Now I showed himw where there were two holes in the roof of a new car that had only 200 miles on the OD. It's funny he said, the district manager was down here last week and said a number of prowler's had reported this but, they had denied the claims. Uh, oh!! He went on to say that with only 200 miles on it, they might make an exception. I was thinking that if a "number" of prowlers were exhibiting the same problem, that would have made a difference. He put in a call the the district rep but, they were not there. We are awaiting a call from him now. I explained to him that this was my 3rd prowler and during the month of August (last month) I bought 3 new DC cars. I thought a bumper to bumper warranty was just that. Not, we will cover what we want and not some other things. I'm waiting to hear back from them but, all indications are that I am going to have a fight on my hands for something that should be covered. 5-star indeed!!! We shall see what happens...... ------------------ Driving a car is just transportation, |

You all have to get together, have a class action against DC and sue the s**t out of them for non compliance of warranty (and their attitude). This,I think, might be a federal suit. JRL |

quote: Thanks JRL, From what the service manager said, there apparently are alot of prowlers with this issue (and that would be in this area so other areas probably have alot too) Still waiting his phone call back.... |

Where exactly are the holes and what caused them? |

I store my top according to the owners manual so there better never be a hole in it, I've read a lot of post about this problem but I'd like to see someone post a picture showing the problem areas. Al |

quote: Holes are through the canvas top on the passenger side. Not sure what caused it but, top has only been down twice and the 2nd time, it rubbed two holes in the canvas. From what I can discern, a number of Prowlers have had this issue. |

You mean the holes caused by the top mechanism movement? I've heard later models had little tabs placed over the offending metal protruding pieces. maybe that will help in the future? Either way, good luck resolving this. |

The district rep will not be able to look at our car till late September. They have assured me they will take care of it but, I find it hard to believe that they actually will at 200 miles but, have denied Teri at 1500 miles. I want to have my ducks in a row and also help others like Teri. I am asking this of all members, if you have had your top replaced or fixed due to a torn top (under warranty) please answer the following (or email them to me) Year of your car: Thanks, |
