At any given time, I make sure there is in the Prowler: - Portable air pump that runs off the cig. lighter. What do you folks consider vital Prowler items that should be with you? BTW: I patched my tire gash (caused by a chunk of broken glass) with epoxy-resin hardener, and once I sanded it smooth, I can't see Goodyear doing a better job of fixing the tire! I know I won't get replacement for it, and it is hell finding a spare tire. I'm getting Dunlops or BF Goodrich next time! This message has been edited by Black Tie 161 on 09-10-2002 at 07:09 AM |

The thread is getting interesting... I still can't believe I haven't seen anyone else carry a portable air pump yet.... Mine is so small it fits right behind the passenger seat. |

BT 161 - I guess I have not seen one that small. I should get one especially for road trips. I now have non runflat Dunlops on the car so it could be a nice thing to have. What brand pump do you have and is it available at retail stores or did you order online? Thanks Marty |

Marty....My wife bought me the AIRMAN Cordless air pump which works great off the cigarrette lighter...(err.....I mean 12v power supply) She got it from AAA gift catalog but it was $70. You can get the exact same thing here for ONLY $50!!...I looked for 20 minutes before I could find a place to order this online....This air pump is really small for the functionality. http://a2zgiftideas.com/page/useful.htm Below is pic and description...I highly recommend getting one for your car. It fits right behind the passenger seat and doesn't protrude anymore than the CD changer does! Meaning the passenger seat can still go all the way back. Airman Cordless Mini Air Compressor Now you can inflate tires, balls, bikes, and more in mere minutes, with our easy to use, hand-held air pump. Built-in rechargeable NiCad batteries save you money, making the Danish-designed Airman the most affordable air pump on the market today. Just plug the 12v adapter into your vehicle.s cigarette lighter for power on the road, and never get stuck with flat tires or deflated recreational equipment again. High quality bleeder valve makes sure you never overfill, and the PSI indicator lets you know exactly how much pressure you are using. Includes one-year manufacturer warranty. Maximum pressure: 150 PSI/10 bar. Includes multi-purpose nozzle fittings, automatic pressure control with thumb-lock, 12v adapter, and 9.6v charger. Measures: 12" H x 4" W x 7" D (at nozzle). |

BT 161 - thanks. Looks like a good gift one of my kids can give me for B'day or Christmas. AC - I am lightening the load. I am doing this diet/exercise thing to lose more weight than MeanGene. Only 3 pounds the first week, but Gary & Kelly Archer were in town last weekend so I didn't cut back as much as I should (I did not want to be the only sober one. ) Marty |
