within the past 20 minutes I received email from someone identified as prowlerman97, subject "lets be friends." It was an attempt to plant a virus in my computer. Everyone, if you see this email message or any variation, without a doubt, it is some sick mind with nothing else to do but cause other people grief. Beware; |

So far this week I have received emails with viruses from Ed, 400HP (Dean), Rich Ware, & topcat. I know none of these people are sending me emails conatining viruses, but someone on POA has a seriously infected machine!! |

quote: Marty, It doesn't necessarily even need to be someone from the POA. Case in point, a virus that successfully lands on your PC (no POA member) then reads your address book and sends emails from you to all your contacts addressed as from you. Remember, one of the things with these viruses is to get you to look in the wrong place for blame. I'll say it again to all, if you don't have firewall software and an active anti-virus program running on your pc/server, you could be the infected box (or worse and loose all that is on your pc). Can any of us afford that risk??? |
