Now that I at least got Marty's attention No not in the 1/4 mile... Last weekend I was in a car show called Custom Car Show 4 or CCS4. There were close to 500 cars in attendance, most of which were Rice Burners with some pretty wild mods... Well, the organizers did not know what category to put me in. There were 3 that they were considering... All Dodge, All USA, or Exotic... to make it fair, they put me in the Exotic category. OK... I was going against 2 Lamborguinis, One of which was a Diablo, a Ferrari 360 Modena, a Mazeratti, & a Viper... FAIR??? Well it isn't a Dodge, & it wouldn't be fair if I was in the all USA category (Saturns to PT Cruisers to Probes etc)... So I agreed it was a wise choice... The organizers were pretty friendly & did their best to make everything as fair & as smooth as possible... MeneGene- they even had something you would have loved - Bikini contest!!! I will have to send you pictures when I get them back Very well run show, very impressive, but all of the stereos, DVD players, Playstations... Boy did I have a headache. It reminded me of my first weekend in the Freshman dorms at Ohio State. It was not the fact that it was too loud, believe me it was. Just the fact that there were soooo many styles of music & different movies all at once & after a full day of whale watching in Mass. on Sat & only 7 hours sleep since Thursday, none the night before... I was hurting... Really bad... Felt like a hangover without the fun part the night before... Well, the judges came around & they did a better detailed inspection then Newark airport security. I was pretty impressed. Even looked closely at my mags (all 4) & I don't have the ceramic brake pads yet... Looks like I do though At 4:15, they started handing out the trophies - first for the sound off (stereos & Disables). Must have had 16 different categories Took forever to hand out the 48 trophies since the guys who won could not hear their names (They were all deaf) - They had 300 trophies to hand out & had to clear the lot by 5:00. So everything turned into a madhouse & very rushed - They announced the winners for exotics towards the end, but I did not hear my number, did not think I would... Still left having a great time & met many people interested in the Kat & the POA. Needless to say, I slept good that night with or without a trophy. WildBill |

Hey WildBill - congrats on the car show. You keep beating them at the car shows and I'll try my best at the drag racing - how's that? It's great to hear that the KATs are winning and appreciated by other car people. Happy Prowling Marty |

This is sort of related. I was coming out of a Toys R Us one day and saw a guy getting into a Lambo Diablo so I went over to talk to him. He was taking his Tennis Shoes off and I just thought to myeself to keep the carpets clean. We talked quite awhile and eventually he voluntarily explained taking off his shoes. Apparently he had to to be able to drive it because the pedals were so close together he could not drive in a comfortable or safe manner with his shoes on. Said He had a hard time getting his foot between the brake pedal and the accelerator with them on. I was prety amazed it was so tight inside. |

Thanks Guys!!! It was a real surprise when the show organizer told me I got 2nd... Picked up the trophy on the way to another show on Saturday. It was a nice size too. Got another one that night as well which read "Best in Show" Couldn't be right - there were many other nice looking rides there. Some of them even had attitudes... right Mike V.??? I think Tom & Helena paid off the judges since it was my first time at the show... The show started at 6pm so I was able to actually show the neons for the first time at a show. Marty - you got a deal... We'll both keep blowing their doors off!!! Gene your right... Forgot to get the water spots off the mags on the trailer, but cleaned them up as soon as I got there. OK, As soon as I figured out how to back the damn thing up. Top was clean this time though- but left it down Ed - I was going to rib you, but MeneGene beat me to it... Did not want to gang up on you... How was the Anniversary with Bubba??? Tarzan - Lots of little mods like a Transmission Cooler cover I designed & made myself, polished chassis, neon, color accents on the interior, pin stripping & other graphic work, chrome-leafed the lettering on the engine & other mods... I will have to take some photos & post them sometime or you can go to the Skyline Drive Cruise The key is to keep the Kat really clean too. Especially the engine, I always pop the hood at shows, so I even clean the bugs out of the radiator. EMmmmmmm Toasted moths... Thanks for posting the picks SteveO... Those images were shot about 9:00am, before all of the noise started... Good to see you at the show on Saturday too. BeWare - funny story - That has always been a problem with the Lamborguini. They are actually designed from the outside in, forgetting about the ergonomics of the car. The Contauch was actually much worse. The owner of the Diablo at this show was pretty short & had tiny feet & hands... I guess that old adage is true... I wear size 12s - no need to spend over 300,000 Rich - did you by chance check to see what he purchased? Probably was a Prowler model John - Hope you all are well, & thanks! Hope to see you soon! You going to make it to the SkyLine Cruise??? Thanks again Guys! WildBill |
