Jay - on the tail pipe issue. Did you find that the newer cars had a different diameter for the tailpipes? I know you had to change something on your muffler but I didn't ever hear if it was because of the year or what.

Thanks

Cliff...

ALL Prowlers have the same size pipes throughout the entire production, regardless of the model year. Where the problem / confusion arose during the initial design / production of the SSS Prowler muffler was that the OEM Prowler pipes were a slightly different diameter from standard stainless steel exhaust tubing that was available. To compensate for this difference, we expanded some standard size tubing in an attempt to satisfy our needs. As you may remember, being you were one of the original "field-testers", it was reported that the fit needed improvement if this was to be a true do-it-yourself install... it was too tight to just slip-on.

After we analyzed the field data, identified our needs, a source was found for this "unique" size stainless steel tubing. This single change corrected all the initial "tight" fit concerns.

Since regular production started, there have been "zero" fit concerns and the SSS Prowler muffler is destined to become the Prowler standard for fit, finish, SOUND and performance. Currently over 100 systems have been installed, most by do-it-yourself Owners.

What made this a real challenge was to make a "slip-on" replacement muffler (to enhance the kitten like sound) that fit perfectly between the existing exhaust and tail pipes. This design was unlike other systems that are "welded" on or only had to fit the OEM exhaust pipe being replacement tail pipes were furnished.

Again, I am proud to say with lots and lots of customer testimonials, the SSS Prowler muffler fits, sounds and performs as advertised.

Regarding the ALL NEW SSS 3" fully polished stainless steel tail pipes, we are slightly ahead of schedule.

These will be debuted at Cruisin' the Coast in early October. Again, these are designed to be a "slip-on" do-it-yourself installation to compliment either the SSS Prowler muffler or the OEM Prowler muffler. These pipes will enhance the looks with the billet aluminum hangers as well as the sound with a deep, deep echo being expected.

THANKS for your inquiry and for your initial "field-testing" of the original SSS Prowler muffler.

Sincerely, Jay

TFischer

Jay: The SSS is definitely a great fit now!! Ken and I had the muffler on in less than 20 minutes after taking the tailpipes and old muffler off - took us approximately 40 minutes to do the whole job. Love the sound!!! Thanks - look forward to hearing the new pipes at CTC! Tami
