Well, My attorney and I have come to agreement with the insurance company on my totaled 01 Silver with 13k miles....

They have offered $40,500 for the vehicle. I think it's safe to say that this is the most I could ever possibly get for the car (more than I paid for it new as well)

What's really funny is that it was their first offer, and we didn't even have to argue.....

Ron,

Glad to hear you did not have to hassle with the insurance company to get a fair settlement.

What are you going to replace the Prowler with?

Steve,
I replaced it with a 2002 Silver Ford Lightning for now.....

I'm going to let the prices go down on the Prowlers for probably a year, and then I'll pick up another one...

Seems that the Lightning holds its value fairly well....

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

I wish I knew you were going for a Lightning, I am going to be selling mine in a few weeks...Less than 2000 miles.

I've seen them with $5K off the sticker. Same for the Harley trucks. Call a Ford used car manager and see what they'd give you for the Lightning, I think you'll be surprised.

$5k off sticker on them????? Are you sure?????

All the dealers around here are still getting $2k over sticker, or MSRP, and won't budge.....

I picked up mine slightly used with 3k miles for $29,500.

If you look at KBB trade in values you'll be surprised too.....

Yup, positive. One dealer near me has about 5-7 Lightning's and about 10 Harley trucks. $5K off sticker.

When buying a vehicle, I routinely check all across the internet for the best prices. When looking for a new 2002 yellow, some places wanted $48-55K while I found dealers willing to unload them for $38-39K. Go figure.
I bought a Harley motorcycle out of Alaska because it was ALOT cheaper then buying one locally (even including the shipping)

The one thing I have learned is that dealers and brokers typically don't follow KBB or NADA. They look at the market and what they can get them for (and sell them for). Call a few dealers and see. I think you'll be surprised how much less the wholesale they will be willing to pay (for any vehicle).

also check out the local L club site... http://www.svtlightnings.com/
they have meetings every month ...I have a diablo chip that I never put in my L that I need to sell if you are interested...
