Lots of discussion on low profile floor jacks. Any interest in a very light-weight NASCAR style aluminum floor jack with the Prowler logo? I'm not going to get into the color discussion, but we could select one color including purple but I'd lean toward a more universal color. These are the very best professional, race quality jacks and not cheap. You see them every weekend on television at the NASCAR races. Based on the pictures of some members garages there might be adequate interest.

If there is interest, I'll post the details.

Sounds interesting. I'd be interested in hearing more of the details. As far as color I'm flexible.

Hey Bob aren't you supposed to be working? Or are you heading out early to get the Rambler started? I'd definitely be interested, maybe then I wouldn't have to drive the car up on the ramps before jacking it up and placing the jackstands. Plus those are really cool jacks.
Can't wait to see the results of your months of efforts, time and calls.

Sounds like a great idea, keeping them aluminum color would solve the color issue.

I've been thinking about getting one of those jacks. One with the PROWLER logo sounds like a good idea. Keep us posted.

I'll post the details, specifications and a picture when I get home Tuesday. I've been considering this since PRI last year, but the minimum quantity put me off. Including one for me, I count nine people vaguely interested, and that's before seeing the price. The problem will be attaining the minimum purchase requirement and the time necessary to produce and deliver the jacks.

You raised my interest... Aluminum or black would be the best for universal color... Leaning more towards aluminum color...

Northern Cat, Thanks for the straight lead in. The pictures are very similar to the jack we're talking about.

The jack that I was referencing is the "Slammer" from Litening Products. It is "fair traded" at $599.95 in its standard configuration and $695 with a private label.

I would propose one color with the Prowler logo and Prowler name. I've been looking for a photo and will post one when I can find it. The following are the key facts about the company and this jack:

- Litening is the largest supplier of NASCAR jacks
- Winston Cup Style & Quality
- Lightweight 35# billet aluminum construction
- Three pumps to maximum height
- 3400# capacity
- Advanced hydraulics
- Urethane frame pad
- less than 2" collapsed height
- 2 piece handle for working in close conditions
- Knurled upper handle for easy grip
- Knurled middle section for short handle uses

Now the really tough one: comes in A.N. Red, A.N. Blue, Billet or Black.

I'll attempt to describe it: two swivel casters at the handle end, full width low profile roller at the pad end, loop handle on one side for easy carrying and the color is on the two flat sides with the handle, lift and hydraulic cylinder in natural aluminum.

I need a firm order for 50 jacks to be able to do a unique jack for Prowler owners. They require a 50% deposit up front because of the custom order and deliver takes approximately 60 days. The logo is powder coated silk screen. I've never heard of this process but it's what they use on their black jack with flames and have had very good luck with durability. Replacement parts are available.

You have a good idea of what we're talking about. I cannot post a price because of their pricing policy. If you're really interested, I will e-mail a price privately. Remember, we need to find 50 Prowler owners that want a unique conversation piece in their garages. You can purchase a quality jack for a lot less money, but this one comes with bragging rights.

Bob ... sounds WAY cool, wish I didn't already have one low profile jack that cost a small bundle. And to help in your cause, and for comparison, the Lincoln low profile jack I mentioned above listed for $432.00 and I paid $280.00 at a CarQuest auto parts store 4 years ago! For you Michigan fans its perfect too .... blue and yellow 1! anyway ... good luck with the jack sales ... wish I could be one of the 50 =(

I e-mailed everyone that has expressed an interest with pricing. I'll leave this here for a few days and then move it to the group purchase area. We need 50 to do a custom Prowler logo jack. Like I stated in my reply to those interested, I personally have two floor jacks so I'm not proposing this because I need one nor am I looking to go into business. These are for bragging rights in your garage. Look at what some Prowler items are bringing on e-bay and we're talikng about a much lower quantity item for your collection.

This club works!!!
http://store.yahoo.com/msdirect/flamedcarjack.html

The jack pictured is indeed the "Slammer" from Litening Products. I need 50 to do a custom jack or ten to do one of their stock items including this flamed one. The price e-mailed to those interested would hold either way. I'll move this to Group Purchases Monday and maintain a list of those interested after they e-mail me back after considering the price.

Hey Bob,
Just wanted to comment on your email. $200.00 savings for the custom racing jack may not seem like it's worth the trouble but a total savings of $10,000.00 for POA members and a limited edition collectors piece is pretty substantial. Many people have spent more than that for a single customization on the car. If Bob's willing to take this on I say
"Come on ya'll let's see if we can get to 50 confirmed orders."
