While cleaning the wheels on my Prowlers, I like to lift them off of the ground. I can not find a jack that is small enough to pick up either front side. Has anyone found a solution for this problem? I have all the books and I know the points to pick it up properly. I own two Prowlers, Gold and Candy Apple, but I'd like to see a good picture of the orange. Is there anywhere in the Chrysler Dealerships that you can find out what Prowlers are left and who has them for sale? I have found a 2001 blue for $44,100. Is this a good price? Bill in Oregon |

Bill, why not drive the front wheels up on to a couple of two by fours to get the car a little higher off the ground before you attempt to put the jack under it? The price on the Mulholland is not a great price. Keep looking but there are not a whole lot of them left. Any dealer can run a check for what is still available. You will get more answers on this in the next 48 hours. Hang on and check them out. |

There are a ton of the Mulholland's left. Don't know why. I think it's a great color but, most dealers are having a tough time selling them. In Texas, NEW ones are as low as $35K (delivery miles and not titled yet) I'd say keep looking. ------------------ Driving a car is just transportation, |

Bill - Ed is right about driving the cat up on a 2X4 to get it alittle higher. A one-ton hydraulic jack will then roll under the front jack up point to lift.. Back wheels are easy to do without jacking it up,,,,,,well, that is what Reba-Cat tells me,,,as she cleans my wheels for me |

Hey Cuz' Here is what my prowler tech told me. Drive the car up on a 2x4 (one under each wheel). Slip the jack under the front crossbar and put a 2x4 on top of it. Make sure the 2x4 is long enough to span the complete brace. Jack it up right in the middle. You can then lift both wheels at the same time and put jack stands under the jack points. It sure makes it easier when the wheels are off the ground ------------------ |

You were asking: "I own two Prowlers, Gold and Candy Apple, but I'd like to see a good picture of the orange." I think the best pictures of what the Orange looks like is this group: http://prowleronline.com/scrapbook/newscrapview.php?id=36 Actually the golf club, whoops it's not a golf club, looks the most exactly like the color when you see it in person. The color is an extreme metallic so sort of changes color depending on light an angle. It photographs like it is yellow sometimes, sometimes a brownish copper orange other times. It is a totally unique color. I have never seen anything close to it on any other car. I have had people yell out their windows asking "how much did you pay for that paint job?" I tell them it was free when I bought the car. I love it, but color is a point of contention on this site. Get what you think you will like........ I did! |

Never mind. Somehow I posted twice. (I know what I did, but I am blaming it on the computer. Hey, have you noticed, they don't say "computer error" anymore? This message has been edited by Punk N Purp on 08-30-2002 at 01:08 AM |

Punk N Purp, we took that picture at the CAAP plant and I was kind of disappointed in the color. Under those type of lights it does not look nearly as good as it does in sunlight. In sunlight it looks great. Bill, if you look at one in a showroom you are not getting a good look at it. If you are interested in it, have them take it outside in the natural light. That ought to sell you on the color. |

Surprised that none of the former or current Viper owners on here have posted this, or is it just a following for the Corvette owners around here? Lincoln makes an excellent low-profile jack for cars such as Corvette, Viper and Prowler. Large cradle can except nylon inserts to avoid scuffing and jack itself is blue and yellow. May be found at usual auto parts type places (Carquest, etc.) Better and safer to use than driving up on wood. jmo |

I use a small portable jack purchased at Sam's Club. Fits right under and I place a square rubber pad on top of jack to protect the frame. Jack works great also if you tow a trailer and need to change a tire. Jack come in compact storage box that can be carried in trailer. |

I use a small hydraulic floor jack. There are rubber pads on the frame just forward of the fire wall. Using the floor jack in this area will lift the front wheels. Purchased floor jack at Sears. |

quote: Try the hard plastic ramps. We found them to be wide enough to support the back tires. And they are easy to drive up on. We used to have the metal ramps for our other cars but the cars were so low that we couldn't use them for the front wheels, but the plastic ramps are longer.

YellowFever, I would love it if I could find a blue cat in the $35,000 range. What part of Texas are you talking about? I would like to call and talk to someone. To all, Punk and Purp, Bill This message has been edited by Bill Watson on 08-30-2002 at 08:26 PM |
