I was wondering if there was any major differences between model years. I know the 97's were different but were there any changes from 99-02.

Thanks

Yes, the years!!!

Colors aside.

Seriously though, I think the shocks changed in
2000 and of course the badging changed in 2001 to Chrysler.

Matthew46.

For 2000 & above, in addition to the shocks and springs, the run flats were redesigned (softer sidewall) and mini trip odometer in rearview mirror, & radio with speed sensitive volume control..

Checkout the Prowler story from front page to get more details and when some other changes took place...

97 and 99 had a black shift bezel with plastic slide. 2000 switched to Chrome with leather boot. 97 and 99 had gray bumpers 2000 and later switched to black. All 97 had silver painted wheels, on purple and yellow 99's chrome wheels were an option, on 99 red and black and therefafter all were chrome. Inside deck lid covering was changed in 2000. 97's and early 99's had a hood prop rod, then switched to gas hood shocks. Exhaust maifilods were changed at some point have to check the Prolwer story for when. That's all I can think of for now.

August 1999
2000 model year Prowler production begins with the color of Red. There are a few key model year changes to the Prowler. The suspension shocks & springs are modified to a new design for smoother ride. The run flat tires (20" rear and 17" front) are redesigned with a softer side wall for smoother ride and new recommended tire pressure of 28 psi for all four tires. A new auto dimming rear view mirror with mini trip odometer with temperature gauge in mirror is introduced. The bumpers are repainted from Gray to Black. The alternator is changed to a new design with declutching pulley to eliminate the serpentine drive belt rattle that occurs as the belt tension decays (relaxes) as the 3.5L does not have an automatic belt tensioner.

Read about this and more in the Prowler Story and Tech Info from CAAP in the ProwlerOnline Garage .
