Help me out with this.

Two intakes are advertised on eBay.
Both use exactly the same filter - no difference there.

Both use the same bent pipe to attach the filter to the engine - no difference there either.

Both use the same coupler - again, no difference.

Once has a piece of aluminum (or tin) that covers about half (if that) of the filter. Top and one side is still open.

The one with the cover sells for about 5-7 times what the other one does. The claim is that this one reduces the heat to the intake. O.K., I'll bite, how? They both are in that tight cramped compartment and if hot air can't get in from one side, it can from the other 2/3's that are not covered.

Now if one had a snorkel that went outside the body to get colder air, I could buy into that but, in that same area and with that 1/3 cover it's going to be alot colder and perform alot better. Am I missing something?????

So, my question is, what exactly is the difference (or really is there????), that justifies the increase price.

Thanks,

I don't know about getting colder air but they definitely get more air, you can hear it. I have the Magic Touch Design intake and I am very happy with it. Mine has a shield all the way around the filter.

I also have the MTD intake and have been more the happy with the service as well as the performance differance in my car as a result of installing I had the old design at first and when William up graded his system he made me an offer to good to be true to change to the new which I did I also noticed a large change when I installed TGF side panels as the intake now sucks cold direct air from the outside and sounds awsome belive me when I say I would pay the diff between the two just to business with a dealer like MTD, if you know what CSI means his is 5 star

I have the MAC Prowler with the shield...works great.

Would not buy the one without the shield. Has to be a reason it is there

I would go with the MTD design air intake. I have been more than happy with the product and Bill's service.

GO WITH BILL!!!!

After I installed his intake system (with the Heat Sheild) and took my Kat for a drive, I could really feel the difference big time. Before the install, I was using the K&N flat replacement filter, which is good, but definitely does not make the difference like Bill's design.

You will not regret going with Bill's Intake System.
