I was cruising through eBay today and couldn't help but notice the number of goofy things said about the car.
Here is a partial list:
1) Dodge Prowler
2) 2001 was the last year
3) Orange was the last color
4) Blue is the rarest color (talking about mulholland)

When looking for my new ride, I spoke to a few different sales people and these were some of their comments:

1) Are you looking for the convertible or the hardtop?
2) Production is very limited and there is a 2 year wait
right now
3) Sir, 2002 was the only year for the yellow color.
4) The invoice on these cars is $50K
6) You can get it with either a V6 or a small block V8
Really???

No wonder they quit making it. With this kinda help, it's a wonder they even sold one. I'm not knocking the whole profession but, come on, how can you not know what the hell you are selling?? And if you don't know, don't make up stuff.

How true! When I sold for Ford, product knowledge was the #2 item that I put on my list to excel at.
What was #1??? Learning the technique to getting the customer to lose their 'fear' of picking up the pen to sign their name and BUY the vehicle. There within 'lies' the art of selling,,,,,,,,,,,,plus afew more steps

Automotive sales have always been about the money and never about the product. IMHO

Tough to sell a product they know nothing about though, IMO
