Well, I have to change my username. I'm now the proud owner of 2000 silver kat! THE GOOD--- absolutely the coolest car on the road. I've lusted for the car for years, but because I live in downtown Washington, DC, without private parking, I couldn't put myself through the anxiety of owning any car, to say nothing of the kat. The BAD--- because I couldn't live without the car, I'm paying for parking in a public lot (so far so good). The UGLY--- my first day picking up and driving the car, I was idling at the light at Dupont Circle Park (if you're familiar with DC). Three bums in the the park hooted "look at that car!" I smiled, waved and turned my attention to the traffic. The next thing I know, they're throwing rocks at the car. Talk about a damper on a happy occasion! (Needless to say the car evokes strong emotions.) Well, I'm since over the shock and am happily navigating the famous potholes around DC. You all have been a wonderful information source prior to buying the car and since. Ciao for now, (I'll have lots of questions). |

I bought 2 Prowlers in Woodbridge Va. and spent lots of time cruising DC....lots to see there...shame a couple of derelicts had to ruin your day....probably were x-office holders...the Prowlers I had at the time were Yellow and silver...boy, did they get the looks...drove and parked all over DC with no problems...just takes one jerk...hope things get better...so much for gun control |

Congrats on the new Kat. It's is a damn shame our Nations Capital is going to Hell. I was born in DC, lived my early years there and started with IBM there in 1969. I would be afraid to go there alone at night now. |

You've got more guts than I have. I don't think I'd ever drive a Prowler into the heart of DC. Although a Prowler should be enshrined with its own memorial in DC, 8 years of a divisive administration that fostered a "hate-the-rich" and "if-you-got-something-nice-you-must-be-a-crook" mentality, can turn a town, heck a whole country, into jealous, nasty people looking to deny you a just reward for your hard work. When you said bums I assumed you meant those most recently put out of office. No, on second thought, they're were probably at the Kennedy compound vacationing so it must have been just ordinary folk who believed you didn't deserve such a fine ride. Congratulations on your new  cat! Welcome to the POA. It's a shame that you had to start ownership with such a disturbing incident. It is amazing to me that people have to be so jealous that they behave in that manner.Have fun with your new cat! |
