I have noticed on my puddle prowler that the hood opens backwards. Being where prowlers are such different cars and we all enjoy the attention they bring, would you rather have had the manufacture have made our hoods open this way. I think it would have been unique and just a little bit more of a difference in looks.

What's your opinion?

While I think that would have enhanced the "wow" factor of the car, I'm not sure structurally if that would have been possible.

But then again, what do I know...

structurly definitely not cost effective, but anything can be done for $ but what about even having the hood tilt up sideways?

The concept car did open hinged from the front. It also had a small trunk and a power top. Anyone with the 2002~2003 Prowler Calendar can see the photo's I took of the concept car when it was here in Indy in `93 or `94. Several changes from concept to production, but unless you look at the concept then production most would never know the difference.

I asked several times about the hood. The answer I got was the amount of hood there is on the Prowler and the small front would make this a difficult & costly option. Yes I would like to have seen it open from the rear to the front.

The car is of the concept car on the puddle

Well, if opened from the front, it would be just like a C5 Corvette...

I think if it opened from the rear it would be harder to work on under the hood. The concept also had a power top.

I was thinking more on the lines like Laddie said. They did it with the corvette. When I look at the puddle car the hood actually opens all the way and leans forward, well out of the way for working on the car. After all 90% of the motor work would have to be done from the side anyhow. Anything major and you are removing the hood anyhow.
Oh well, would have been nice.
