1ST of all if my English isn't making any sence i'm sorry i'm from the netherlands.

Second: damnnn i'm jealous at you guys and girls.
The don't sell the prowler in the netherlands.
So i'm thinking about importing one here.
Cause i just love the car :-)
But i need info.

What is a good price for a second hand prowler?
Are things that i should look at when i buy one?
I mean like known engine problems if there are any.
And other stuff like that.

Hope you can help me and come up with good advise and tips.
Thanks a lot.

Sincerly

Jeroen

Jeroen - No problem, our Ed doesn't speak English very well either!

No engine problems,,,,,,just the little things pop up once in alittle while. Where could you have it serviced would be my question to you?

Price? What it will bring in CASH today! Varies alot. Mileage, condition, warranty?, and how driven would be important factors to consider in pricing. Good luck

Jeroen - if you have Chrysler dealers near, then by all means GO 4 IT..........you might be a LONE WOLF there, but you'll get millions of smiles and attention. If you don't like attention, then don't buy one. JMO

The price - anywhere from $30K to $40K - depending on vehicle age, mileage, condition.

There are no "engine" problems that I know of. There are a few minor mechanical issues... such as the center caps on the wheel break easily, and there are some squeaks in the dash and under the hood. There are a few other things that may or may not occur - I have heard of problems with chrome on the wheels. Especially since you are out of country and will probably not qualify for warranty work, be sure to check condition of the chrome on the wheels (check for peeling, rusting). Check the headlights for condensation.

I have isolated all the squeeks in my car - so I can help you with that if that is a problem with your vehicle.

What color do you want? Just let us know and we will provide you some leads. If you find one that you want inspected, again, just let us know - We have members from east coast to west coast who are happy to help out.

"The Chairman". Is that something like "The Godfather"??? (Bear in mind - the trunk is not large enough to carry bodies... lol...jk)

By the way, your english is perfectly fine...
later,
Damon.

I see fixxum is back on line using an alias and spell checker. lol.
The main thing is to get the color you like the best and try to find one with low miles at a decent price.

Thanks for your answer.
So if i find one i can just post it here and put on a friendly face and ask someone whois lives near by to check it out. A reward will be paid offcourse.

Well the orange colour looks amazing.
And it's the supporters colour of our country.

And then my nickname.
I use The Chairman because i'm in a wheelchair.
I broke my neck when i was 16.
But luckely they can adapt automatic gear cars in such way that i can drive them with my handicap.
I know the boot wouldn't allow a fould up wheelchair in there.
But i will just dump it on the passenger seat.

Thanks again for your answer.

Chairman, it just so happens that Friday night at a cruise-in a local approached me and told me that the dealer nearby had a brand new Orange that has been sitting in his showroom for almost a year and they want to get rid of it, cheap. If you are interested I will go get a firm price. Let me know if you are serious about an Orange Prowler and I will check it out. It has not been sitting outside. It should be close to perfect.
On the downside, I do not know if a wheel chair will fit in the passenger seat. There is not much room in the car. i don't want to throw a wrench in your plans but I don't think a wheel chair will fit.

Ed thanks for the tip,
But first i have 2 get all facts straight about the total import cost into the netherlands.
I think when the kat will be finnaly imported the total price to get it here and street legal tax and all that other stuff to squeeze money out of you will become a total of 2 prowlers in the us.
So i have 2 find ways to bend the rules here and there. :-)

And the about the wheelchair.
I managed to get it into a mini cooper so i think that a prowler shouldn't be that big of a problem.
If it is i will by a smaller wheelchair wich will fould up smaller :-).

Tnx for passing on all this info you are all great people.

Ooh ed one thing if you do go to the car dealer can you make a photo shoot so that i can show it of and make people understand why i want an orange prowler.

Because i'm getting commented that i'm crazy.

Jereon, WELCOME. While the Prowler is a unique vehicle, the new MINI with supercharger is a cool ride too, and might be better suited to your terrain. You're not going to get much into the car with doors that open half way, but someone has offered a solution for that lately. I dont know if anyone has seen it yet. You should try to get in one before you purchase. If you can swing it, and want lots of attention, go for it.

Welcome to the group Jereon.

Orange is a cool colour but you have red in your colours also if I'm not mistakin don't you? Just a pitch for us Red owners What part of the Netherlands do you come from? My wife's families live in Freisland and just outside of Amsterdam she goes there once if not twice a year and I always ask if she's seen a Kat there but she hasn't just a few PT cruisers. If you decide to get one remember the doors don't open the wide so there's a new posting by (crackerswamp) on a extention for getting the door to open wider, just thought I'd pass that on also.

But with football matches everybody wears orange well not everybody but a lot of people wear orange houses become orange cars everything. football is our number 1 sport.

Yeah i read about those door openenrs but i wasn't able to find a picture of it.
If anybody installed or has any pictures of it please post it.

About kats in the netherlands as far as i know there was one and that used to show it in car programs. So like Alley Cat said i'm the lone wolf here if i have it :-).

How about someone posting a good shot of an orange cat for the Chairman. I am not capable of all that technology. You can also go to the scrapbooks and see lots of pictures and pick out the one you want.
